In the United States, a SWAT (special weapons and tactics) team is generic term for a law enforcement unit that uses specialized or military equipment and tactics. Although they were first created in the 1960s to handle riot control or violent confrontations with criminals, the number and usage of SWAT teams increased in the 1980s and 1990s during the War on Drugs and later in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. In the United States as of 2005, SWAT teams were deployed 50,000 times every year, almost 80% of the time to serve search warrants, most often for narcotics.

S.W.A.T. Operator

This is the Hardy Tree in [St Pancras Old Church](https://goo.gl/9AiihJ), Camden, London, UK ([OSM](https://goo.gl/ydVXeA)). The tree was reportedly planted by the author Thomas Hardy and the roots are embedded in pile of gravestones.

The point cloud is a combination of a RIEGL VZ-400 scan and a ZEB-REVO (to get detail around the gravestones). Hardy Tree (Camden, UK) and gravestones

Enigma machines were designed to create complex coded messages that were almost impossible to crack. Throughout the Second World War, Germany and its allies used Enigma machines on the battlefield, at sea, in the sky and in their secret services to send military messages. The Germans considered the Enigma code to be unbreakable, but mathematicians in Poland, France and the UK developed advanced techniques that broke the Enigma code, helping to shorten the war. Today mathematics is at the heart of all computer security – as well as attempts to break it.

I made this kit for a group project, which focus was to create a math learning game for children. The group agreed on some sort of “ancient archeological” design and since I was the only person with some game modeling expertise I was responsible for getting the visuals done.

I am sharing this in hopes someone just starting out with Unity might find it useful. This is my first time doing this though and I was pretty hard pressed with time^^ Anyway, have fun!

Royal Python (Python regus)

Micro CT scan of a half section of a nautilus shell from the D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum at the University of Dundee.

As an elegant demonstration of the logarithmic or equiangular spiral in nature, the nautilus is perhaps the most iconic image associated with D'Arcy Thompson's ground-breaking work in mathematical biology. 

Scanned with a Nikon XT H 225ST micro CT scanner. The resulting file is exported as an stl. and imported in to Zbrush. Texture is added from photographs using the Spotlight function and Polypainting.

Nautilus Shell (sectioned)

Digital replica of a neck vertebra from a dog (*Canis lupus familiaris*). This is the seventh vertebra in the vertebral column when counting down from the head and is also identified as C7, the seventh cervical vertebra.

3D Dog Bone Project: C7 vertebra

Aphrodite, ca 360-340 BC J.-C., Cypriot production, Provenance of Amathonte (Cyprus), excavations of Ed. Paridant, Limestone painted. Musée du Cinquantenaire (Brussels, Belgium). Made with ReMake and ReCap Pro from Autodesk.

This feminine figure, with many jewels, holds a flower in her right hand and a bird, dove or pigeon, in her left hand. These motifs bring her closer to the bearers of offering, like the neighboring sculpture. The turreted crown, a motif from the Middle East, covered with a veil, however, designates it as a deity, Aphrodite, cult very developed on the island of Cyprus.

3D Dog Bone Project: Upper skull

Tarbosaurus was recreated by InGen for Jurassic World on Isla Nublar. At least one individual of the species remained alive on the island in the aftermath of the park's abandonment in 2015, and laid a clutch of eggs before it was encountered by the survivors of Camp Cretaceous; Jurassic World's resident summer camp.

The Nicolaus Copernicus Monument in Kraków, Poland was designed by sculptor Cyprian Godebski in 1899 and completed in 1900. It has become a landmark of the city, as it commemorates one of the most famous alumni of the Jagiellonian University of Kraków.

Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543) was a Renaissance scientist and scholar. His heliocentric model of the universe was revolutionary and contributed greatly to the emergence and development of modern science. He was an astronomer, mathematician, translator, physician, economist, and had a doctorate in canon law. A true polymath, or "Renaissance man", whose life and work has become a part of cultural heritage of the world.

The 3D model features the monument of Copernicus wearing a purple bowtie. It was put on it as a part of an artistic happening organized by the University’s students to promote upcoming Juvenalia, a yearly student festival celebrating youth culture, freedom of expression and creativity.

The Food Transfer 2023 by Mathew Age 10

Built in the 19th century by the Nazaretian Family during the Ottoman times in the city of Aintab (Gazinantep, Turkey), this model features the house's balcony, a women's salon, and the Office of Kara Nazar (AKA Nazar Agha) who served as the ambassador of Persia and vice consul of the US. Nowadays, the house hosts the [Papirus Cafe](https://goo.gl/maps/HQFk8C5VEMqnVmU49). 

I visited the house in 2022 with a local historian Murad Ucaner who gave an incredible walkthrough of the house, its history and its aftermath in the context of the Armenian genocide. You can watch it on my Youtube channel - https://youtu.be/mMHs9DEYwm4

This photogrammetry scan was made with 900 images captured with a handheld Sony A7rii and processed with RealityCapture. The model is scaled 1:1.

Full name: **Astronomical telescope with a Gregorian mirror system**

This type of telescope was first described in 1663 by James Gregory (1638-1675), a Scottish mathematician and astronomer, professor at the University of Edinburgh and St. Andrews University in Scotland. Inventor of the first reflecting telescope. He proposed a method of determining an astronomical unit based on observations of the transit of Venus in front of the disc of the Sun. 

This particular telescope was engineered by Jesse Ramsden (1735–1800), optician, maker of scientific instruments, mainly astronomical and navigational ones, Fellow of the Royal Society in London.
