The statue of Edward Snowden, called by its creators Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument 2.0, was an ephemeral, illegally-installed public statue of Edward Snowden, an American whistleblower who leaked classified information from the National Security Agency (NSA) and was charged with federal crimes as a result. The bronze-like statue was placed in Fort Greene Park in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York City, on April 6, 2015. It was attached to a Doric column on the perimeter of the park's Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument, a memorial and which honors more than 11,500 American prisoners of war who died in the American Revolution.

The statue was mounted by three anonymous artists and their helpers, who were dressed in white helmets and reflective vests of Parks Department workers, early in the morning of April 6, then covered and taken down by NYC Parks officials later that day.

Edward Snowden At Fort Greene Park

The Thinker (French: Le Penseur) is a bronze sculpture by Auguste Rodin.
Rodin first conceived the figure as part of his work The Gates of Hell commissioned in 1880, but the first of the familiar monumental bronze castings did not appear until 1904.
A bronze cast of the sculpture can be found in the garden of the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.
The museum has a unique Rodin collection with a total of 34 sculptures, commissioned directly from the artist himself in the years 1900-1914, including well-known and monumental works.

Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world, with the site measuring 162.6 hectares (402 acres). It was originally constructed as a Hindu temple of god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, gradually transforming into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the 12th century. It was built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Yaśodharapura, the capital of the Khmer Empire, as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Breaking from the Shaiva tradition of previous kings, Angkor Wat was instead dedicated to Vishnu. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation. The temple is at the top of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors.

Consuegra Castle is a fortress of Islamic origin located in the town of Consuegra, the ancient Roman city
of Consabura. It passed into Christian hands around the year 1090, but
after the battle of Consuegra it was recovered by Islamic troops.
In the 12th century it was finally conquered by Christian troops. For
its better defense, King Alfonso VIII donated the castle in 1183 to
the Military Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, which made it its main
fortress in the region. During the Peninsular War (1808–1814) it was
occupied by French troops who partially destroyed it in their retreat.

Currently the castle is owned by the Consuegra City Council, being one
of the most visited monuments in Castilla-La Mancha.

Palace of Fine Arts photogrammetry  (aerial)

This is the biggest model I have posted in Sketchfab, that could make it slow to load. This model of the masterchief monument - executed by French sculptor Aimé-Jules Dalou, is made from almost 500 photos of 24 MPixel (taken from the ground) with ContextCapture, the photogrammetry software of Acute3D, Bentley Systems. I did not retouch the mesh, only cropped it, remove texture, made ambient occlusion in Meshlab, used lighting of Sketchfab.

Ellora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India. It is one of the largest rock-cut monastery-temple cave complexes in the world, featuring Hindu, Buddhist and Jain monuments, and artwork, dating from the 600–1000 CE period.Cave 16, in particular, features the largest single monolithic rock excavation in the world, the Kailasha temple, a chariot shaped monument dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Kailasha temple excavation also features sculptures depicting the gods, goddesses and mythologies found in Vaishnavism, Shaktism as well as relief panels summarizing the two major Hindu Epics.

There are over 100 caves at the site, all excavated from the basalt cliffs in the Charanandri HillsAll of the Ellora monuments were built during Hindu dynasties such as the Rashtrakuta dynasty, which constructed part of the Hindu and Buddhist caves, and the Yadava dynasty, which constructed a number of the Jain caves.

The most famous of the Govan stones, the sarcophagus represents a rare monument type in early medieval Scotland prior to the 12th century AD. It was rediscovered in the churchyard by a gravedigger in 1856 and was moved into the church in 1908. It is decorated with a hunting scene, different arrangements of interlaced beasts, and six panels of interlace, some of which appear to be interlaced snakes. It is not known what the lid might have looked like, but two complete drainage holes in the base of the monument (and the worn surfaces surrounding them) suggest that the sarcophagus originally acted as a coffin for the remains of a royal saint, but later functioned as a reliquary.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England, two miles (3 km) west of Amesbury. It consists of a ring of standing stones, with each standing stone around 13 feet (4.0 m) high, seven feet (2.1 m) wide and weighing around 25 tons. An exceptionally valuable monument of sacred goldsmiths from the treasury of the Miechów monastery (Poland), which has survived to our times, is the richly decorated late-gothic silver chalice with a six-leaf foot. It is assumed that it was created around 1500, perhaps in a workshop in Hungary or in the capital city of Krakow. There are precious stones on the base of the chalice: sapphire, amethyst, ruby and emerald. In the upper part of the foot, figures of the Virgin Mary and an unknown saint are visible.

Grave of honour of Johannes Benk at the Vienna Central Cemetery.
The Austrian sculptor Johannes Benk (1844-1914) created several statues for the Vienna Votivkirche, the Museum of Military History and the Museum of Art and Natural History. His main work, the Deutschmeister monument, is located on Vienna's Ringstrasse. In 1924 Benkgasse in Vienna was named after the sculptor.

The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile; lit. 'Triumphal Arch of the Star') is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, France, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l'Étoile—the étoile or "star" of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues. The location of the arc and the plaza is shared between three arrondissements, 16th (south and west), 17th (north), and 8th (east). The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Not far from the Nuraghe Losa, we find one of the best-known and most fascinating monuments in Sardinia: the well temple of Santa Cristina.  This underground temple certainly represents one of the peaks of nuraghic architectural mastery. It is constructed of perfectly squared stone blocks forming an access stairway leading down into a chamber with corbelled ceiling of exceptionally good workmanship. The water still today reaches the bottom of the chamber, filtering through its walls. Near the meeting hut there are some rooms with square, rectangular and circular ground plans, only the bottom courses of which remain: almost certainly these were lodgings for the priests of the water cult and the pilgrims, but there must also have been small sales stalls for the market held on the occasion of religious celebrations. From Wikipedia:
The church was built in 1759 as a court chapel of the Kuczkowski family. It originally bore the invocation of St. John the Evangelist. In 1778 it became a branch church. From 1788 it became the parish church of the newly-established parish of Saint Anne.

In 1903 the nave was lengthened by 9 meters, the roof was covered with galvanized sheet metal, and a side chapel and a granary were added. The wooden floor was replaced with cement board flooring, and the square windows were replaced with arched ones. In 1905, the interior was plastered, polychrome was laid, the altars were restored, the organ and the fence were repaired. A new organ was purchased in 1960. The altars were renovated in 1976, and the polychrome in 1977.

The building served as a parish church until 2004, when a new temple was put into use. On April 7, 2004 it was entered in the register of monuments

The Volkshalle ("People's Hall"), also called Große Halle ("Great Hall") or Ruhmeshalle ("Hall of Glory"), was a proposal for a monumental, domed building to be built in a reconstituted Berlin (renamed as Germania) in Nazi Germany. The project was conceived by Adolf Hitler and designed by his architect Albert Speer. Due to the enormous size of the building and the use of white granite and marble it could even have been seen from space.

This is a 3D model of a replica of the leaning tower of Pisa! This famous torre illustrates the most popular and characteristic monument of Pisa and I got it as a souvenir, when I visited Italy. This 3D model is a project built within the course of “Digitization Technologies, Techniques and Applications”. Leaning Tower of Pisa, alternatively “Italian Torre Pendente di Pisa” is a medieval freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa, famous for the settling of its foundations, which caused it to lean 5.5 degrees (about 15 feet [4.5 metres]) from the perpendicular in the late 20th century. Extensive work was subsequently done to straighten the tower, and its lean was ultimately reduced to less than 4.0 degrees. The tower is included in the Piazza del Duomo UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was declared in 1987. Today, it is one of the most touristic attractions in Italy and a great site to take creative pictures.
