Butrón (Basque: Butroeko gaztelua) is a castle located in Gatika, in the province of Biscay, in northern Spain. It dates originally from the Middle Ages, although it owes its present appearance to an almost complete rebuilding begun by Francisco de Cubas (also known as Marqués de Cubas) in 1878. The castle has a fairy-tale look about it inspired by Bavarian castle models. The present building was created as a hobby for its then owner and to create something which is visually spectacular rather than to produce something in which people could actually live. Chichen Itza,  from Yucatec Maya: Chi'ch'èen Ìitsha'  ("at the mouth of the well of the Itza people") was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period. The archaeological site is located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico.

Chichen Itza was a major focal point in the Northern Maya Lowlands from the Late Classic (c. AD 600–900) through the Terminal Classic (c. AD 800–900) and into the early portion of the Postclassic period (c. AD 900–1200). The site exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, reminiscent of styles seen in central Mexico and of the Puuc and Chenes styles of the Northern Maya lowlands. The presence of central Mexican styles was once thought to have been representative of direct migration or even conquest from central Mexico, but most contemporary interpretations view the presence of these non-Maya styles more as the result of cultural diffusion

Valkyrie Sculpture

Northumberlandia (the "Lady of the North") is a huge land sculpture in the shape of a reclining female figure, which was completed in 2012, near Cramlington, Northumberland, northern England. Made of 1.5 million tonnes of earth from neighbouring Shotton Surface Mine, it is 34 metres (112 feet) high and 400 metres (1,300 feet) long, set in a 19 hectares (47 acres) public park. Its creators claim that it is the largest land sculpture in female form in the world.[1]

It came out a bit patchy on the water and the shadows could do with being de-lit, but will likely drone scan it in myself one day when in that region to get a better result.

Northumberlandia land sculpture

*Strix varia*, or the barred owl, can be commonly found in dense forests and wooded swamps in southwestern Canada, Washington, Oregon and northern California. The barred owl is, on average 48-51 cm tall, and has a rounded-head with grey-white facial disc. Where many owls have ear tufts, the barred owl does not.

The small serrations on an owl’s primary feathers creates small vortices reducing noise from wind drag to near zero. The silent flight of owls inspired the biomimetic solution to wind noise caused by the Shinkansen Bullet Train as it travels near 350km/h. These serrations also inspired the redesign of  Ziehl-Abegg, Inc’s fan blades, reducing noise and improving energy efficiency. *'A devotee might pray to Amoghasiddhi to overcome envy and greed, attempting to transform these emotions into the wisdom of accomplishment. He is one of the five cosmic Buddhas who are crowned and wear jewel ornaments. Associated with the color green and the elements of wind and air, Amoghasiddhi is believed to occupy the northern section of the five directions. His right hand is raised in the “have no fear” gesture. This sculpture is part of an elegant group of bronzes, probably from western Tibet, that displays masterful craftsmanship and stylistic links to Indian sculpture from the Pala period (700s to 1100s CE).'*

Tibetan Amoghasiddhi Buddha, 13th C CE

3D scan of a trumpeter swan (*Cygnus buccinator*), which is the largest native water bird in Northern America and has been widespread there. These birds are around 1.5 meters long, with a wingspan of more than 2 meters. Trumpeter swans got their vernacular name due to their trumpet-like calls. This also reflects the scientific species name derived from "buccinare" – to trumpet. 

The exhibited specimen originates from the Tiergarten Nürnberg and came to the NHM Vienna in 1978.

This trumpeter swan can be found in Hall 30 of the Natural History Museum Vienna.

Trumpeter Swan (NHMW-ZOO-VS-75374)

Mount Carmel is a coastal mountain range in northern Israel stretching from the Mediterranean Sea towards the southeast. A number of towns are situated there, most notably the city of Haifa, Israel's third largest city, located on the northern and western slopes. The range is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. 

Due to the lush vegetation on the sloped hillside, and many caves on the steeper side, Carmel became the haunt of criminals. In ancient Canaanite culture, high places were frequently considered to be sacred, and Mount Carmel appears to have been no exception.  

In mainstream Jewish, Christian, and Islamic thought, Elijah is associated with the mountain, and he is regarded as having sometimes resided on the mountain.  The Bible's book of 1 Kings 18, records a showdown between Elijah and the prophets of Baal. In that account, the God of Elijah sends fire from heaven to consume a sacrifice of testing, proving which diety is the true and living one.  The event takes place on this mountain.   -Nate Loper

The giraffe is an African artiodactyl mammal, the tallest living terrestrial animal and the largest ruminant. It is traditionally considered to be one species, Giraffa camelopardalis, with nine subspecies. However, the existence of up to nine extant giraffe species has been described, based upon research into the mitochondrial and nuclear DNA, as well as morphological measurements of Giraffa. Seven other prehistoric species, known from fossils, are extinct.

The giraffe has intrigued various cultures, both ancient and modern, for its peculiar appearance, and has often been featured in paintings, books, and cartoons. It is classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature as vulnerable to extinction, and has been extirpated from many parts of its former range.

Giraffe

The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, commonly known as York Minster, is the cathedral of York, England, and is one of the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. The minster was completed in 1472 after several centuries of building. It is devoted to Saint Peter, and has a very wide Decorated Gothic nave and chapter house, a Perpendicular Gothic quire and east end and Early English North and South transepts. The nave contains the West Window, constructed in 1338, and over the Lady Chapel in the east end is the Great East Window (finished in 1408), the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the world. In the north transept is the Five Sisters Window, each lancet being over 53 feet (16.3 m) high.

York Minster (Cathedral Only)

Tillamook Rock Light (known locally as Terrible Tilly or just Tilly) is a deactivated lighthouse on the northern Oregon Coast of the United States. The construction of the lighthouse was commissioned in 1878 by the United States Congress and took more than 500 days to complete. Shortly before the completion of the lighthouse in January 1881, the barque Lupatia was wrecked near the rock during foggy weather and sank, with the loss of all 16 crew members.

Tillamook Rock Light was officially lit on January 21, 1881. At the time, it was the most expensive lighthouse to be built on the West Coast. Due to the local erratic weather conditions, and the dangerous commute for both keepers and suppliers, the lighthouse earned the nicknamed "Terrible Tilly" (or "Tillie").

Olympia (Greek: Ὀλυμπία; Ancient Greek: [olympía]; Modern Greek: [oli(m)ˈbia] Olymbía), is a small town in Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, famous for the nearby archaeological site of the same name, which was a major Panhellenic religious sanctuary of ancient Greece, where the ancient Olympic Games were held. The site was primarily dedicated to Zeus and drew visitors from all over the Greek world as one of a group of such "Panhellenic" centres which helped to build the identity of the ancient Greeks as a nation. Despite the name, it is nowhere near Mount Olympus in northern Greece, where the Twelve Olympians, the major deities of Ancient Greek religion, were believed to live.

The statue was found in the remains of the palace inaugurated by King Sargon II in Khorsabad (northern Iraq) in 706 BC.

Lamassu (winged human-headed bull)

3D scan of a taxidermized dwarf crocodile (*Osteolaemus tetraspis*). Dwarf crocodiles are the smallest species of crocodiles, reaching a maximum body and tail length of ca. 1.7 meters. *O. tetraspis* is an inhabitant of small rivers and pools of freshwater in forests and swampy regions of Western and Central Africa northern Angola and east of the Congo River. 

This specimen cannot be found in the exhibition of the NHM Vienna. Hall 28 of the NHM Vienna is full of other reptiles and 3D models, some of them are visible in the collection [NHMW 1st Zoological Department](https://skfb.ly/ooFCT).

Side Chair

This bowl with an X-shaped handle can be dated to c. 50 BC-200 AD, i.e., [Late Pre-Roman Iron Age or Early Roman Iron Age](https://bit.ly/3vucSEX). It was found in [Gårdby parish](https://bit.ly/3hrP1gS) on the island of Öland. It belongs to a type of fine ware with carefully polished surface and a delicately incised décor. The black surface is a result of firing in a reducing atmosphere, in other words, the oxygen supply has been restricted during the firing. It is made in a style typical for Southern Scandinavia, Northern Germany and Poland. The bowl has probably been used as a drinking vessel at feasts, dinners and during rituals.

*'Amoghasiddhi is one of a group of five buddhas that embody five distinct types of wisdom and are thus sometimes called the “Five Wisdom Buddhas.” Of the five, who are believed to occupy the four cardinal directions and an immovable central direction, Amoghasiddhi occupies the northern position. He is an embodiment of the “Wisdom of Unrestricted Activity,” which enables one to save living beings on the path toward salvation using individualized means. Amoghasiddhi’s emblem, the double thunderbolt (vishvavajra), decorates the bottom of this sculpture... X-ray analysis has revealed what appear to be a roll of paper, a small bead or pearl, and a glass vial within a compartment inside this small statue.'*
