Single sided rendering (back-face culling) results in only the front side of geometry being visible. It is often a good choice for creating cartoon outlines that work from any angle, as you can see in the model above.

Here's a npr-model I did mainly for a telegram stickerpack, but also to practice rigging. It's a stilized otter using a version of the good old inverted hull shading to get outlines.

The rig has IK/FK switching, variable IK chain lengths, stretch-IK-switching, FK saling, powerful yet simple spine controls and an eye setup, that I kind of need to improove in the future ... if you want to have a crack at the model yourself, consider [forking it the model on gitlab](https://gitlab.com/betalars/otterly-adorable).

The materials are mainly built for quick prototyping in blender, it all kind of also works in realtime, but I'd put in a bit more optimisation before adding it to a game.

A 3D character study of Guita Hebby, heavily inspired by the raw, "trash-punk" aesthetic of Key Urana’s manga "Gachiakuta".

This project was an exercise in translating aggressive, high-contrast 2D manga art into a functional 3D game-ready model. I focused on maintaining the iconic silhouette of the oversized monster hoodie and the graphic nature of the "Sun" emblem.

Key Features:

Art Style: Urban Fantasy / Trash-punk.

Modeling: Focused on sharp silhouettes and clean edge flow for fluid animations.

Shading: Designed for a cel-shaded/toon look with bold outlines to mimic ink-drawn art.

Optimization: Low-poly geometry suitable for real-time engines.

Technical Specs:

Modeling & UVs: Blender.

Texturing: Hand-painted style with a focus on flat-shaded colors.

Topology: Optimized for deforming the large claw-sleeves.

Check out the "Sun" emblem on the left sleeve — a vital detail in Guita’s gear!

Sponge Bob Bedtime Hat

Prehispanic vessel, apparently bearing modern decoration: an orange horizontal band around and below the rim, followed by what appear to be two plump figures placed on diametrically opposite sides of the vessel. These figures were created by painting the entire surface and outlines in black, leaving the figures in the natural color of the slip. The eyes consist of two orange-filled circles, and the mouth is rendered as a downward-curving line. Modern incisions are present on the hands and around the mouths.

Vase with Modern Desing

These are plush toy models of the mascots of the Vtuber Talents of Hololive English Council and Project Hope. They weren't a commisson actaully; I just felt like making them and adding them to their VR Chat world. I suppose I have great skill in intuaition because I didn't have any idea of any merch at the time.

Names of the mascots from left to right: Bloom and Gloom (IRyS), Nemu (Fauna), Mr Squeaks (Baelz), Bread Dog (Sana),  Friend (Mumei),  Boros (Kronii).

Download these models and make something fun with them! To make the outlines work and the models to not appear as fully black, make sure the "Outline" material has backface culling enabled

Dropout bear from "graduation"

A rock characterised by deep glacial shaping and small carved panels.  The most interesting scene comprises two pairs of warriors fighting with large, rectangular shileds and spears. Their outlines are very boldly carved, with thick,deeply pecked lines delineating the figures so that the carvings are very clear and prominent.

The weapons, the style and the nearby presence of inscriptions suggest a dating to the Late Iron Age (third to first century BC).

**Dating:** 500 - 568 CE

The brooch was cast in bronze and features bird heads facing upwards. The piece is decorated with engraved patterns. The base is cross-ribbed. The spiral and pin are absent. The headplate is characterised by a symmetrical arrangement of stylised bird heads facing one another. The outlines of the animals are depicted as incised relief with raised edges. The base has a ribbon-like shape and ends in an animal head.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.
