2018.281 Peacock Table Lamp

Fully textured and rigged model of Jikin goldfish.

Jikin is a specific breed of goldfish originated in Japan.  Most distinct of their feature is the X-shaped caudal (tail) fins, thus also known as peacock tail goldfish.
They also have a standard for their body color of which 50% must be white and with red lips.

I went all out with texturing for this model to give the organic and transparant look that this breed of goldfish has.
I wanted to pull off the look of transparancy around the eyeballs only to find out I can only combine SSS texture with dither or mask opacity mode.   Static picture looks okay but I apologize for the flickering around the eyes during realtime animation.

The statue of Gobu-jogo (temple tradition name: Golden Peacock King) is one of the Twenty-Eight Deva Guardians protecting the Thousand-Armed Kannon at Sanjūsangen-dō. Designated a National Treasure​ from the Kamakura period, it stands 162 cm tall. It corresponds to the “Deva” among the Eight Legions, representing the guardian deity of the five highest heavens free from material desires. A distinctive feature is the elephant head adorning its crown, possibly linking it to the deity Vinayaka (Ganesha). The statue presents a solemn form, exemplifying the classic style of Kamakura-period Buddhist guardian sculpture.

The statue of Golden Peacock King (temple tradition name: Sanchi Taishō) is one of the Twenty-Eight Deva Guardians protecting the Thousand-Armed Kannon at Sanjūsangen-dō. A National Treasure​ from the Kamakura period, it stands 164 cm tall. It embodies the deification of a peacock known for devouring poisonous snakes. Strade Dominican Friary, National Monument No. 172.  The abbey at Strade dates to the mid-13th century, when it first started as a Franciscan Friary, established by the Lord of Athlethan (Ballylahan), Jordan de Exeter. The Dominican friars moved into Strade in 1253. The priory was dedicated to the Holy Cross.  A papal indulgence granted in 1434  may have resulted in a rebuilding phase of the church. The carving of a bird possibly an eagle/peacock with a serpent in its beak on the south wall of the crossing tower of the friary church dates from the 15th-century.  In medieval Christianity, the bird & the serpent symbolize the battle between Christ (or virtue) & the Devil (or sin).
