**Modeling**:

* The scan was remeshed with [mmgs](http://mmgtools.org) from 500k verts to 7k, keeping the face and hands at a higher resolution.
* The ocean surface and ground were created with blender's ocean modifier.
* Light shafts are simply a randomized array of elongated planes.
* The fish is a lowpoly model ( a 30s model ).
* A particle system was created for fish instances, with force fields applied (boids physics, vortex, attraction force and collision on the statue)

**Texturing/lighting**:

* Mix of concrete and coral on the statue
* Sand on the ground
* Nothing on the sea surface
* Radial opacity for ground and surface
* Voronoi textures baked as emission on the statue and the ground, to simulate the light deformation through water
* Lots of color processing

Christ of the Abyss

The 8.0-litre W16-cylinder engine with 1,850 PS and 1,850 Nm of torque is at its heart. Bugatti has designed the drive specifically for use on the race track, and has optimized it in particular for higher engine speeds. For a start, both intake and exhausts systems were de-throttled to obtain a more spontaneous response, while four newly developed turbochargers build up more boost pressure and power at higher engine speeds. In order to cope with the extremely high centrifugal forces the whole dry sump lubrication system was redesigned, bringing also weight saving benefits. The cooling system is new as well, from the air-to-air intercooling for the engine (instead of water-to-air), to the carbon-titanium turbofan radial compressors to ventilate and cool the high-performance racing brake system.

*Myllokunmingia* had a head with a pair of eyes and a nasal opening, up to six pairs of **gills** housed in pouches on the lower surface of the head, and a **dorsal fin** supported by stiff radial rods. It also had **Z-shaped blocks of muscle** and would have been able to swim freely through the water by moving its body side-to-side like a fish.

Radial engine

This is pure computational topology. 
Not sculpted by hand, this model is the direct 3D output of the Polytopic Archetypal Projection Protocol (PAPP).
The Origin: The seed is the Shamseh, a radial star pattern from Islamic sacred geometry. 
Its 2D ratios were fed into an "algebraic transducer", mapped onto a 4D space using a Fibonacci lattice on an $S^3$ hypersphere, and projected into 3D via a Hopf fibration.
The Build (V5.1): Driven exclusively by the Golden Ratio ($\phi$) and Euclidean metrics, it generates hyper-dense, crystallized concentric shells—a "Cosmic Onion".
Network Science Data: Vertices: 163,892 deterministic nodes.
Clustering (C): 0.847 (pathologically high local density).

Shamseh V5.1 "Cosmic Onion"

This stone slab lies 3m to the NE of the kerb cairn on the Monzie estate. It measures 2.5m in length by 1.5m in breadth. The upper face has about 60 cups, each with up to 4 rings. The largest ring measures 400mm in diameter and the cups are up to 40mm deep. Two cups have radial grooves and one dumbell was also noted.

The artefact consists of a mixture of hard-fired clay containing small amounts of quartz. The outer colour ranges from light brown to black, while the fracture has a brick-red to grey colour. It is composed of pieces of clay of varying sizes. The surface has been carelessly smoothed. The body has a flat to wavy structure, with the upper side having a contrasting and slightly curved texture. The perforation is slightly off-centre and is in a vertical position. Ten shallow, irregular impressions can be found radially around the perforation on the upper side of the artefact.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.

The cylindrical roller or weight

Here's my quick attempt to recreate a panaeolus cyanescens mushroom (found in many cow pastures in Hawaii). They're also known as "blue meanies" because like all magic mushrooms they contain a dark blue substance (psilocybin) that runs throughout the entire mushroom and becomes visible on the surface when you pinch it.

This mushroom has a tan spot on the top of the cap, as shown, but I did have difficulty with the gills on the under side of the cap. I'm not sure if there's a better way to do it in sculptgl, but i just used crease and pinch for the radial lines, and then painted over it.
