On festive occasions the gentlemen sat here after dinner, smoking cigars and talking. On regular days, however, this was the family sitting room, where they gathered to drink coffee and play board games in the evenings.

The smoking room is inspired by the [Orient](https://goo.gl/pDNk9v). It was common in the late 19th century to decorate with oriental features and the room is typical for the ideals of the time. The style is associated with [colonialism](https://goo.gl/epxUNw) and militarism and was therefore considered to be appropriate for a room for gentlemen. The walls are clad in silk which was meant to give the room a feeling of an officer's tent.

The Smoking Room

This project is inspired by an edited version of a picture from the visual novel
"Suiheisen made Nan Mile? - Deep Blue Sky & Pure White Wings". 
To realize this piece, I began by researching ways and methods of creating cloth with the focus on how to sculpt the wrinkles and find credible material.

Here's a selection of fanmade mod characters I modelled, I made the ones that I particularly enjoyed and found interesting!

Each character is fully rigged, most have facial shape keys, and include extra props!

Messing around with refractive materials!

The [Mosquito scan](https://skfb.ly/6tFKT) (415k tris) is from [Geoffrey Marchal](https://sketchfab.com/geoffreymarchal).

**Modeling**:

* The scan was first remeshed with [mmgs](mmgtools.org) and baked to a lighter version (11k tris). 
* The amber fragment was roughly sculpted in blender ("I have no clue what I'm doing" style), keeping the main face flat (clay strips + flatten brushes).
* The small fragments inside the amber were done by splitting all the main fragment edges and applying the "shrink/fatten" tool, followed by a random Displace modifier. Exterior fragments were then removed with a boolean modifier.

**Material**:

The important parts are the roughness and normal maps, which are a mix of PBR textures (rougher edges, smoother main face), while the refractivity is just a product of tweaking Sketchfab settings: opacity set to refractive and using the object's roughness.

A drink can (or beverage can) is a metal container designed to hold a fixed portion of liquid such as carbonated soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, fruit juices, teas, herbal teas, energy drinks, etc. Drink cans are made of aluminium (75% of worldwide production) or tin-plated steel (25% worldwide production). Worldwide production for all drink cans is approximately 370 billion cans per year worldwide.

Soda Cans

The Lancia Fulvia coupe is a car released in 1965 and derived from the sedan released in 1963. 
This car is best known for its rally victories  and contributed to the legend of Lancia.
The 3D is based on a 1967 rally version but with some modifications from the restyled versions.

I do all aspects of this project, which allowed me to learn a lot of things:
- Hard surface polygonal modeling, with Shrinkwrap Workflow on Blender
- Texturing with Substance Painter
- Rendering with Blender Eevee and making an animation
- Rendering on Sketchfab, what you can see here
- Video editing with Adobe Premiere.

Unfortunately I can't import my own HDRI in Sketchfab to have the same look between this and Eevee, but it's ok.

1875 by Becker Bros., a Baltimore firm formed by German immigrants.
Over the years the building has been a warehouse for the Baumgarten & Co.
toy manufacturers and stationers’, an upholstery shop, a roller skating
rink, a mattress factory, cabinet makers, a furniture repair shop, and
artist and maker studios.

New development has been proposed by Cross St Partners to convert it into a mixed use space for offices, production, and/or retail space.

After a formal dinner, the ladies would retire to the small drawing room for drinks and conversation. The room was only used on special occasions; normally the doors would have been closed.

The room is based on a 1760s [Rococo](https://goo.gl/Uymjmm) interior at the manor house Äs, one of several country homes that belonged to the Hallwyl family. In the late 19th century, the style was considered feminine, with its soft, curvaceous forms. It was therefore suitable for a ladies’ drawing room or boudoir. 

In a grand home at the turn of the 20th century, rooms were generally gender separated. Some of the interiors were designed for the ladies, and others for men.

Pirene or Peirene is the name of a fountain or spring in Greek mythology, physically located in Corinth. It was said to be a favored watering-hole of Pegasus, sacred to the Muses. Poets would travel there to drink and receive inspiration.

In the 2nd century CE the traveler Pausanias describes Pirene as follows:

On leaving the market-place along the road to Lechaeum you come to a gateway, on which are two gilded chariots, one carrying Phaethon the son of Helius, the other Helius himself. A little farther away from the gateway, on the right as you go in, is a bronze Heracles.

Peirene Fountain, Corinth - Greece

A simple couch anyone with a tight budget could afford. This cheaply made chair on steroids is cozily made of a fabric material that looks similar to a more expensive denim. Simulated cushions with sculpted wrinkles, dents, and butt impressions make the model look all the more realistic. Available in 4k, the PBR textures have been created in Substance Painter. If all that isn't enough for you, the model is perfectly to scale, you just hit import, and boom, it's there. No further scaling required.

Gray L-Shaped Couch

The neon LED sign is acting as an animated texture.  The texture isn't actually animated, but rather it is cycling through several textures and putting the live one in front of the others at the right time.  The frame is just a low-poly blackish material so to be game-ready.

The kanji is: 居酒屋 = Eating/drinking pub “izakaya” (Japanese language)

If you are using this for a game, probably just pick one of the textures if you don't want to animate it.

Music is synthwave generated in FL Studio 12.

The entire model and animation was generated via Python scripting in Blender 2.82.

A large drinking fountain in Victoria Park, London. The Burdett-Coutts memorial fountain was designed by Henry Astley Darbishire in 1862 for the philanthropist Angela Burdett Coutts (1814-1906).

A bloodsucking nocturnel bat that feeds on blood of every animal on sight. Vampire bats are small bats but they drink out of their tongue instead of their teeth.

The Drome Bar v3.1

My final assigment for the 3D1 course  at howest DAE.

A russian house inside the Tagia forest. Inside lives a man with a strong passion for drinking. A passion so strong it even influences the animals surrounding him.

I loved making all those cool little props and especially enjoyed making the house and plants and placing them around the scene. There are about 8 little storytelling scenes inside this scene, try finding them all:D 

everything was done in Blender and Photoshop.
