A plastered human skull; the skull was taken as the base and the features of the face were modelled on it in plaster. One eye is made from a bivalve shell divided in two. The other has one, smaller, complete shell in place and is missing its twin.

A Dark Knight character I created start to finish within 4 weeks. Used some techniques from Vitaly Bulgarov (Mortal Shell) and Danny Sweeney (Total War: Warhammer) to help create this character. I also took inspiration from the game For Honor. Character concept by Jiwoo Lee.

Dark Knight

This is a 3D animation ("Shelly") of a near-adult loggerhead (ID=982.000406129037) sea turtle (*Caretta caretta*, straight carapace length=86 cm) that was initially captured on June 23, 2017 by the Inwater Research Group, and then photgraphed with the Beastcam technology with 20 Canon G16 cameras.  Photographer Christine Shepard operated the cameras and the sea turtle was released that same day in good condition.  The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality.

Animator Johnson Martin  used Blender to reconstruct the full sea turtle from these scans, as well as animate the movements. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University, and Charles Mairne from the Loggerhead MarineLife Center each provided feedback on the movements.

Created in Blender and Gimp.

The egg model is a simple elongated UV-sphere, cut in two through a boolean modifier using a subdivided plane, which vertices have been randomized.

The egg white was simulated with fluids physics, before being manually sculpted to correct artifacts and smoothen it. The yolk was added manually later.

All the shell textures are procedural, and were created with Cycles nodes baked to the exported model before actually "cracking" it open.

It makes objects behind the refractive material look distorted. Refraction is useful for simulating glass, water, gemstones, and many other transparent materials.

Question Blocks are usually seen floating in midair, often containing Coins, Super Mushrooms, or Fire Flowers. They may also be invisible. Beginning in Super Mario Bros. 3, there are different ways to hit the block other than simply jumping into it from below, like using a tail whip with a Super Leaf or Tanooki Suit, or a cape spin with a Cape Feather, to whack the Question Block, or kicking a Koopa Shell at the Item Block. As of the New Super Mario Bros. series, a Ground Pound may also be used to activate it.

3d game model of 4 of the swords owned by Roronoa Zoro from OnePiece. Textures were made in substance painter and models made in Maya. I tried my best to give the blades a similar look to the ones they have in the anime with the desings and highlights. I also added Shell shading over the modles to give them the black outlined look.

SeaShell - PBR game prop

Building shell, complete wih staircase. I didn't add windows or doors, but the walls are at least a good place to start.

Textured Building with Interior

This is a 3D model (“Tumbleweed”) of a juvenile Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle (ID 132) (*Lepidochelys kempii*) that was initially rescued by the New England Aquarium in Massachusetts, and then photographed with the Beastcam technology with 30 Canon G16 cameras. The sea turtle was released soon after in the Southern United States in good condition. The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality.  We digitally scrubbed the ID tag on the shell.

Animator Robert Gutierrez used Blender to reconstruct the full sea turtle from these scans, as well as animate the movements. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University, and Connie Merigo from the New England Aquarium each provided feedback on the movements.
