Subsurface scattering (SSS) simulates the effect of light scattering inside an object. It is useful for translucent materials like skin, wax, and ice. Rotate the lights with ALT-drag (or three finger drag on mobile) to see this effect change in real-time. Ghast

Fully textured and rigged model of Jikin goldfish.

Jikin is a specific breed of goldfish originated in Japan.  Most distinct of their feature is the X-shaped caudal (tail) fins, thus also known as peacock tail goldfish.
They also have a standard for their body color of which 50% must be white and with red lips.

I went all out with texturing for this model to give the organic and transparant look that this breed of goldfish has.
I wanted to pull off the look of transparancy around the eyeballs only to find out I can only combine SSS texture with dither or mask opacity mode.   Static picture looks okay but I apologize for the flickering around the eyes during realtime animation.

The theme I chose is Grandma's house. This grandma made her scottish highlands princess dreams come true. She loves seeing her animals being able to roam free in her garden, and she spends the rest of her quiet life enjoying the nature, good food, and beautiful flowers. 

pssst! DAE is celebrating it's 20 year anniversary! can you find the easter egg in the scene? It's hard to unsee once you've found it!

I had a lot of fun learning the ins and outs of 3D and blender this semester, and I'm really proud of how far I've come. Even though this project gave me some frustration, I learned so much. Modeling was all done in blender and Texturing in photoshop.

DAE Diorama - Grandma's House

The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is a single-seater with covered wheels which, like many of the models imagined by the manufacturers in the saga (Alpine, Peugeot, Lamborghini, McLaren, etc.), adopts a very futuristic line. The Italian manufacturer says it was inspired by sports prototypes from the 1960s and 1970s to develop this project flanked by the number 75 on the sides.
