A jigger mold was used to quickly mass produce these Albany-Slipware style stackers and jugs. A stoneware jug from the Edgefield Pottery Collection. This is a chicken watering jug, which was filled by holding the handle at the top and dunking the entire jug into a water source. The jug would then be filled with water, and ready for chickens to drink from the resivoir at the bottom.

A cream riser from the Edgefield Pottery Collection. A Cream Riser, also known as a Clabber Bowl, typically had a handle with gently sloping sides which formed an opening slightly larger than the base. The straight sides that slope up and out allowed the cream to separate from the milk. While the larger opening allowed the user to easily skim the cream off the top before transferring the cream to a churn to make butter.
