Stesla - Elephant Steam Engines

This model replicates the iconic steam engine called the "Jules Verne" at the end of Back to the Future Part III. Created as part of my University project (Intro to 3D) started modelling on the November 1, 2024.

**Triva**
The "Time Train" from Back to the Future Part III was a fully functioning time machine, crafted by Doc Brown between 1885 and 1895. This time machine was made using a Roger's 4-6-0 mixed-traffic engine and has a top speed of 88 mph. It was named ‘Jules Verne’ after the famed science-fiction author.

Back to the Future Train - Steam Locomotive

Now that I have a long pole for my camera I revisited this steam engine. I've come a long way from when I first scanned it with just my cell phone camera.

Steam engine - slide distribution system Rider

This is all that remains today of the old Baltimore Traction Company cable car powerhouse on Druid Hill Ave. It was built to help transport passengers from "...Druid Hill Park to Patterson Park in 1891 using underground steel cables (similar to the system still operating in San Francisco today). The cables were powered by steam engines in nearby warehouses."

The elegance of these flying machines and the romance of the adventures of the movie "Castle in the Sky" inspired me to create this 3D model. 
The film takes place in an alternate steampunk reality with steam engines, giant airships and fancy ornithopters. If you haven't seen it, I advise you to look

Little Blue Steam Engine

This fore-and-aft compound steam engine lies within the debris field of the David W. Mills shipwreck and was long thought to be associated with that wreck. Recent research and study of the engine by NOAA archaeologists indicate that the engine belongs to another wreck, most probably that of the tugboat Dauntless which wrecked on Ford Shoals in 1905, 14 years before the Mills was lost at the same site.

This wreck lies within Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary, designated in 2024 to protect heritage resources within 1,722 square miles of eastern Lake Ontario.
