[FPS MAP] Ghost city

Animated 3D model of a human skeleton warrior. Originally part of a thesis studying anatomy of skeletons.

This is a 3D model  of a racer snake (Dolichophis jugularis) scanned using the Beastcam MACRO on a live snake in Cyprus. The mass of the snake is 479 grams. CG artist Jer Bot retopologized and reconstructed the snake in the open source 3D animation software Blender (blender.org). He did this through images captured using an array of six Canon G16 cameras and other reference photos. The construction of this model is part of the post-doc research of Dr. Savvas Zotos (POST-DOC/0916/0034) (https://retrack.terracypria.org) and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation. This 3D model will be used as a means for both studying and presenting the species movement and behavioural patterns.

Turns out it’s not that hard to achieve an authentic handpainted look. I’ve done a ton of researching and studying, and I’ve found a style that seems to really work when creating 3d ghibli-style scenes using Substance Painter. These techniques can be applied to basically any project. I’m really looking forward to improving the process later on this month. This is going to be an ongoing series where I explore different texturing techniques you can use to achieve an anime aesthetic, so make sure to sign up before the price goes up!

Created a little furry character and have taken a large inspiration from the film coming out by disney known as "zootopia" so by studying the facial features of the film trailers and such, i tried my hand at making a furry creature inspired by sheep in the film.
as well, working on my attempts at rigging as well as shape keys for the animations of the facial features.

Ghibli/Anime Style Texturing (Free Tutorial)

**Red‑Gold Dragon vs. Blue‑Silver Dragon**

The Red‑Gold Dragon and the Blue‑Silver Dragon, collectively classified as *Draconis geminiflare*, are legendary twin forces said to have emerged during the late Warring States period. Ancient astronomers believed their intertwined forms mirrored a rare celestial phenomenon, two comet tails crossing in the night sky, interpreted as a sign of cosmic recalibration.

Though often depicted in eternal combat, scholars argue their clash was never about dominance. Instead, each dragon embodied a natural principle: ignition and stillness, eruption and clarity. Their unexpected purpose was pedagogical. Monks studying their mythic duel used the dragons’ mirrored movements to teach balance, how opposing energies can create harmony when neither seeks victory.

Even today, artisans echo their spirals in pottery, dance, and martial forms, preserving the lesson hidden within their legendary struggle.

Fire and Ice Dragon Duel

Semi-transparent sphere as the base of the cranium + semi-transparent lower part of the head with neck, bright colored guideline lines based on Andrew Loomis' method. This 3D model represents the reproductive system of the Indian cattle leech (Hirudinaria granulosa), a hermaphroditic annelid belonging to Class Hirudinea. Each individual possesses both male and female reproductive organs, but reproduction usually occurs through cross-fertilization between two leeches.

The male reproductive system includes multiple pairs of testes, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, and a male genital pore for sperm transfer.
The female reproductive system consists of ovaries, oviducts, and a female genital pore.

After fertilization, the leech secretes a cocoon from the clitellum, where the eggs develop outside the body until hatching.

This model is useful for studying annelid reproduction, hermaphroditism, and invertebrate anatomy.

Leech Reproduction System

This is one of the most important engraved rocks of Valcamonica for studying the period between the end of the 4th millenniun & beginning of the 2nd millennium BC.  It depicts a special moment when metallurgy and farming spread through Western Europe and Italy.

The surface shoes two ploughing scenes which are comparable with the same subject depicted on statue-menhirs .  Daggers nearby have small cup marks decorating the pommel and the usual triangular blade of the period.

An engineering-grade 3D "Digital Twin" of the Chickamauga bronze bas-relief, situated on the Carrara marble monument of General William Haines Lytle in Spring Grove Cemetery (Cincinnati, OH).

This high-fidelity capture documents the severe chemical weathering and oxidation of the 19th-century bronze artifact. It was processed specifically for the American Digital Heritage Project to provide local educators with interactive, browser-based STEM models for studying chemical reactions, hydrological erosion, and material degradation.

Chickamauga Bronze Relief | Lytle Monument

On July 25, 2017, USF CDHGI researchers conducted a 3D survey of the Pasco County sinkhole near Saxon Lake. We are also working to integrate data with collaboration from the USF School of Geosciences, who were collecting Ground Penetrating Radar survey data in conjunction with our GPS work. Additionally, Halo Imaging have been providing access to their RTK drone imagery that has been collected on multiple days and is allowing for meaningful comparison data. The DHHC and USF Libraries are creating a database archive of this research effort, and a web application portal that shares historic maps and information about the environmental history of this area (see: http://arcg.is/0LuCnL ).
