Nile Crocodile Swimming

Yunnan Province, China, ~518 million years old.

<i>Vetulicola</i> had a large **body** with triangular **pouches** on either side and a segmented **tail** for swimming. The pouches may be gill slits opening into an internal body chamber, as found in modern tunicates, such as sea squirts and salps. It is thought that <i>Vetulicola</i> fed by drawing water in through the wide frontal opening to internally filter microscopic food particles suspended in water, with waste water expelled through the side pouches.

Vetulicola cuneata

This is a 3D model of a subadult Caribbean Reef Shark (Carcharhinus perezi) that was modeled after a shark swimming underwater with the OceanX and Cape Eleuthera Institute team in January 2019.  Divers captured video of this shark swimming, and artist Robert Gutierrez used Blender and preexisting shark data to recreate this individual.  As this model was recreated from photos and other data, we make no claim that it perfectly reflects an actual shark, but we have strived to be as anatomically correct as possible.

The Reaper Leviathan is an aggressive leviathan class fauna species usually found swimming in large open areas, such as the Crash Zone, Dunes, and Mountains. It is the third-largest aggressive creature in the game and fifth largest overall.

This Hotel is 99 Meters high and has 29 floors which makes it the tallest highrise of the city. Guests can enjoy the large outdoor swimming pool and a cocktail bar on the topfloor.

This is an feeding animation of a subadult male Manta Ray (“Skye” Mobula c.f. birostris, disk width of 2.5 m) that was reconstructed from a combination of drone, gopro, and other video imagery and morphometric data.  Note the twisting of the cephalic fins, which are used during feeding. Skye was filmed primarily while swimming off the coast of Palm beach, Florida.  Jessica Pate and her team with the Marine Megafauna Foundation (www.marinemegafauna.org) were instrumental for filming Skye and providing access to other data on Manta Rays.  The ANGARI Foundation (www.angari.org) and Angela Rosenberg coordinated and supported this research.  Jonathan Bayuk and Ken Morton kindly donated funding to enable this research.  CG artist Johnson Martin used the data provided to reconstruct and animate the model.

This is a swimming animation of an adult female leatherback sea turtle (*Dermochelys coriacea*).  The [Loggerhead Marinelife Center](https://marinelife.org/) (LMC) provided rare footage of a female turtle named Mac nesting during daytime, which was used to reconstruct this model. Mac (ID 666; PIT tag 989001001220036) has a minimum curved carapace length of 145.4 cm and a curved carapace width of 107.5 cm. Existing data on leatherbacks was also referenced. CG artist Johnson Martin used these data to reconstruct and animate the model using Blender software.

This 3D model represents a freshwater fish species. The fish is depicted in a swimming pose with its body slightly curved, as if it is moving through the water. The model captures the distinctive features of the rainbow trout, including its silver skin with black spots, pinkish-red stripe along its lateral line

**Geometry and Texture:** The 3D model is created with clean and efficient geometry, with a moderate level of detail. The model is UV mapped and textured with high-resolution textures to add realistic details to the skin and fins. The rainbow trout's scales, spots, and lateral line are carefully textured to create a natural and realistic appearance.

Model 84B - Manta Ray Swimming

Here's a npr-model I did mainly for a telegram stickerpack, but also to practice rigging. It's a stilized otter using a version of the good old inverted hull shading to get outlines.

The rig has IK/FK switching, variable IK chain lengths, stretch-IK-switching, FK saling, powerful yet simple spine controls and an eye setup, that I kind of need to improove in the future ... if you want to have a crack at the model yourself, consider [forking it the model on gitlab](https://gitlab.com/betalars/otterly-adorable).

The materials are mainly built for quick prototyping in blender, it all kind of also works in realtime, but I'd put in a bit more optimisation before adding it to a game.

**Orca (Killer Whale) – Realistic 3D Model**

This is a realistic 3D model of an orca (killer whale), created using AI-assisted tools and refined for smooth animation and clean presentation. The focus of this project was to capture the powerful yet elegant form of real orcas, with accurate proportions, smooth surface flow, and natural movement.

The model is fully rigged and animated, allowing for fluid swimming motion that reflects the orca’s graceful yet heavy presence in water. Special attention was given to the silhouette, fin placement, and overall realism.
