Concept from a 2D illustration that I painted in VR for my Honours project at university. Original by a Japanese artist I cannot track down. This was my first attempt at designing scenes and painting them in VR.

The harsh light from the sun above creates the drastic shadows and contrast of colours. Super dark blues for the shadows that give off an extreme version of the cold shadow havens from the beaming sunlight that will most likely burn anyone who gets exposed to it.

## Scanning
One single scan with the Trackit was taken, this also is the reason for the missing part on the left bottom since a cupboard prevented line of sight between the tracker and hand piece. To reach the target resolution roughly 13k frames were scanned which comes out to 4min of scanning at 53 framer per second average.

## Post-Processing
I focused on the top part of the scan and used 0.4mm for fusion and meshing without any hole filling. The third image shows the raw captured data with the whole door. Alignment was done in Quicksurface as well as some slight reduction in polygon count to enable Sketchfab upload.

## Scanning
Scanning was done at 2mm target resolution and no scan spray was used. I was to lazy to calibrate the Trackit so some of the surface quality defects may be accountable to this problem. Tracking quality was indicated as poor so time to calibrate. Scan was performed in three parts (could have been two but the first placement of the tracker was suboptimal) and each scan consists of paint brush movements until full data quality was reached.

## Post-Processing
Processing work was minimal by first fusing at 1mm (software even recommended 0.75mm) and then aligning the partial scans to one whole scan. Meshing was done at recommended settings and alignment to the coordinate system with Quicksurface.
