Kang Jin Long - Introduction

Kang Jin Long, belonging to the dragon, is Kang. Protected by the big horn, it is one of the twenty-eight constellations in Chinese mythology and the second constellation in the east. It is the god of wind, like a fire bead, located at the neck position in the Canglong constellation, and is the essence of the Canglong, so it is named Kangjinlong. Its appearance and temperament are similar to those of a dragon. It is long, has scales, can fly, and is good at walking. In ancient books, people often see it playing in the water.

In "The Romance of the Gods", its original name is Li Daotong. After being killed in the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation, it was deified.

In "Journey to the West", it once helped Sun Wukong escape from the golden cymbals.

poppy tongue

This is the common predator to the anemone deer, as it uses the lure within its mouth to attract unsuspecting prey. Many scholars mistake the lure for it's tongue but it is actually a seperate appendage used specifically for hunting and mating purposes.

Here is number eight in my animal anatomy exploration project. I had dinosaur on the brain, and thought it was necessary to do a bipedal one. I also added some angler fish motif to it.

Guardian of the Hutong: Majestic Rooster - M2.5

Recumbent 15th-century chamfered cross-slab grave-cover measuring 1.9m long by 0.09m thick, the base of the slab measures 0.64m wide which narrows to 0.54m, in the south-east corner of the chancel of Portumna Dominican Friary church (GA127-019----), Co. Galway. Chamfered slab the top of which has a sunburst-motif with human face representing Christ flanked by a serpent/monster with open jaws, dotted body and curving tail which runs across onto the the sunurst motif.  A triangular-shaped motif above the open jaws may represent the tongue of the serpent with fish beneath. Above this there is an eight pointed encircled rosette and an eight armed encircled cross between which there are two human heads above which there is a base for the shaft of the central cross.  Two four cornered knots either side of the shaft of the central cross which forms the centre of six rows of three encircled crosses with vine leaf terminals representing the blood of Christ. English Version
The Kneeling Archer is an elite crossbowman in the Terracotta Army, created in the Qin Dynasty (c. 3rd century BCE), standing about 1.2 meters tall. Its defining feature is a ready-to-shoot pose: kneeling on the right knee with the left raised, hands positioned as if holding a crossbow. The armor's lower edge is folded up to accommodate the posture, and the shoe soles have anti-slip patterns, showing meticulous realism. Made with mold-and-sculpting techniques​ and originally painted, it was accidentally discovered in 1974​ in Lintong, Shaanxi, mostly in Pit No. 2. It is a masterpiece showcasing Qin military tactics and sculptural art.

The ring is fitted with a setting. The setting has an irregular square shape with a flat base. Noteworthy features include the relatively high, diverging rear bezel and the high, grooved, converging front bezel, which has a raised edge. The setting contains an irregularly cut, semi-opaque dark blue sapphire cabochon. The ring band has an oval cross-section with a uniform change in width. The ring shoulders are depicted as highly detailed, sculptural animal heads with open mouths and tongues.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.
