Anthropomorphic whistle in the form of a seated woman with her legs flexed forward. She wears a dress with a wide neckline that leaves the shoulders exposed and short sleeves. Her hair is tied up with a textile bow, and the bangs are cut in a stepped style characteristic of the Usumacinta River region. She wears a necklace, earspools, and wristbands, and in her right hand holds what may be a petate (woven mat), a rolled piece of cloth, or a bundle of small sticks. The whistle mouthpiece is located at the front, between the legs. Traces of white and blue pigment remain. The figurine was produced using a mold with hand-modeled details.

DESIGN DETAILS
The figure depicts a human-proportioned standing character in a blood-splattered dress shirt, black tie, and dark slacks. Cloth wrinkle folds are sculpted into the shirt and sleeves for a realistic, hand-finished look. The head features exaggerated demonic geometry with a mechanical chainsaw blade erupting from the skull at an upward angle, plus rows of serrated teeth detailing across the lower face. Exposed forearm areas carry an organic, textured surface quality. The silhouette has a characterful, stylized quality that reads clearly at 120mm.

Female donor figure to the right of thePieta on front or altar reredos dating from the second half of the 15th century, standing up against the internal face of the eastern wall of the chancel of Strade Dominican Friary (MA070-067001-), Co. Mayo. Described by archaeologist John Hunt as; ‘The lady has a close-fitting tunic, with tight sleeves fastened under the forearms with many buttons. The dress has a high neck and a cross at the throat. She wears a brat or great mantle, thrown back from the upper part of the body, but covering her waist and knees. This is treated in a pocked technique to suggest a heavy rough texture. The treatment of the figure drapery is looser than Ossory types or than the Meath school—though the style has closer affinities with Ossory than with the Dublin Pale.
