Each model has its origin located at its feet, so that placement in a scene is made easy. However, some refined scaling is probably needed as some children have become giants in the process...

The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, United States. It was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and built from 1930 to 1931. Its name is derived from "Empire State", the nickname of the state of New York. The building has a roof height of 1,250 feet (380 m) and stands a total of 1,454 feet (443.2 m) tall, including its antenna.

Empire State Building

3D Scan of Godzilla toy from NECA, based on Legendary Pictures' 2019 *Godzilla: King of the Monsters* and part of the Monsterverse.

5/21/2020: Re-Uploaded with updated Texture.

3D scanned in color with the Artec Space Spider 3D scanner. Total time spent 3D scanning: 5 minutes. After scanning in initial position standing upright on turntable, the figure was flipped on its left and right sides to capture under the tail and feet. 

Total time processing in Artec Studio software: about 3 hours. This articulated figure was rigid during flipping, however the tail segments moved slightly. In order to preserve this detail and fix the movement in post, the raw data was duplicated and individual tail segments were isolated so they could independelty be repositioned relative to the initial upright scan.

Godzilla 2019 Figurine 3D Scan

This Stegosaurus skeleton from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is more than 26 feet long and over nine feet tall. The bony beast is a permanent display with steel shaped around it, welded in place, and puttied together, making it impossible to take apart. Which means it was super difficult to scan! Triebold Paleontology, Inc. scanned the dinosaur using Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio software. The scanning involved crawling into the rib cage, then perching atop a step ladder just to reach the peaks of the big fan-shaped plates on the dinosaur’s back. The scanner captured everything from the nose to the tail spikes. Beyond aligning the scans, Artec Studio also reduced the mesh size to the desired level for manipulating the 3D model and 3D printing. Scanning time: 1 week - Processing time: 2 months (629 individual scans across 71 scan projects).

Stegosaurus Skeleton

Model of a dodo bought for the museum in 1938.

The head and feet are plaster casts, attached to a body covered in chicken or goose feathers with whole chicken wings added. The tail is made from tufts of ostrich or goose feathers. 

Most models are based on paintings of Dodos which were not scientifically accurate. Now, we know that Dodos were probably much slimmer than this specimen and had longer legs.

Dodo Model

World Trade Center is the original complex that once stood in New York from the start of construction in 1966 groundbreaking, until they were destroyed on September 11, 2001. The complex was opened to public on April 4, 1974; although some buildings were not built or completed yet at the time. It consisted of 7 buildings, the famous being were the twin towers that were once the world's tallest buildings for only 2 years when they were surpassed by Willis (Sears) Tower. Of course, these twin towers ended the Empire State Building's 40 year reign. The old 7 World Trade Center was the last building to be built in that complex, which was built in 1987 and the last building to fall on 9/11 about 7 hours after the North Tower (tower with antenna) fell. The North Tower (1 WTC) was 1,368 feet tall and 1,728 feet with the antenna, while the South Tower (2 WTC) was 1,362 feet tall. They were very famous and appeared in many movie films, they were also an icon of New York City.

World Trade Center

The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco skyscraper in the Turtle Bay neighborhood on the East Side of Manhattan, New York City, at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue near Midtown Manhattan. At 1,046 feet (319 m), it is the tallest brick building in the world with a steel framework, and was the world's tallest building for 11 months after its completion in 1930. As of 2019, the Chrysler is the 11th-tallest building in the city, tied with The New York Times Building.

Low Poly Skeleton

This is the head of David by Michelangelo. This version is based on a full-sized bronze copy created from molds taken directly off the original. 

This model of David's head was created from 105 photos I shot yesterday evening. David just happens to be looking towards the setting sun. I had a difficult time with the shaded back of his head and I'm still unable to capture the top of his head. I've guessed that the top of David's head is over 30 feet above the platform where he stands today.

Visitors to Sioux Falls, SD can see this wonderful copy downtown at Fawick Park.

- Need 2 screw to fix feet on stand base. 
Which size of screw? You can 3Dprint the mockup sample out and go ask the hardware store. 

- Also require a lot of cylinder pin 1.7mm diameter. 15-20mm Length. 
Hard wire maybe work. I use small wood nail (head clipped)

It is standing at 1,250 feet tall for the roof and 1,454 feet tall for the overall height with its radio-cast TV antenna. It is located in New York City, at 5th Avenue and between 33rd and 34th Street, near Herald Square.

Northumberlandia (the "Lady of the North") is a huge land sculpture in the shape of a reclining female figure, which was completed in 2012, near Cramlington, Northumberland, northern England. Made of 1.5 million tonnes of earth from neighbouring Shotton Surface Mine, it is 34 metres (112 feet) high and 400 metres (1,300 feet) long, set in a 19 hectares (47 acres) public park. Its creators claim that it is the largest land sculpture in female form in the world.[1]

It came out a bit patchy on the water and the shadows could do with being de-lit, but will likely drone scan it in myself one day when in that region to get a better result.

Northumberlandia land sculpture

Designed by Gensler, Shanghai Tower is currently the 3rd tallest building in the world located in Shanghai, China. Standing at 2,073 feet tall (632 meters) and consists of 128 floors, a few meters below Burj Khalifa's highest occupied floor. Completed on February 2, 2015 and opened as the 2nd tallest skyscraper in the world, pushing Willis Tower off the Top 10 list. Then in 2023, Shanghai Tower had been pushed to 3rd place due to the completion of Merdeka PNB 118, another megatall skyscraper in Malaysia with the height of 2,227 feet (678.9 meters).

Body improve, Palm, Feet, Bone, Muscle of BJD

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a rock structure near Morrison, Colorado, 10 miles (16 km) west of Denver, where concerts are given in the open-air amphitheatre. There is a large, tilted, disc-shaped rock behind the stage, a huge vertical rock angled outwards from stage right, several large outcrops angled outwards from stage left and a seating area for up to 9,525 people in between. At its height, the amphitheatre sits at 6,450 feet, and the surrounding Red Rocks Park covers 868 acres. The amphitheater is owned and operated by the City and County of Denver, Colorado and is located in Red Rocks Park, part of the Denver Mountain Parks system.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre  -RAWscan

This is a laser scan of a Great White Shark jaw which was originally reported as coming from an 11 metre-long (36 feet)  shark, though subsequent analysis by the Museum estimates it at about 7.5 metres (25 feet) –  still a very large fish! 
The specimen demonstrates the incredible rows of spare  teeth that Great Whites have lined up inside their jaw. If a tooth is lost the  next one in line just folds up to take its place.
The specimen was used for public engagement for many years and has suffered as a result. This is a preliminary scan and we will be rescanning it with the aim of 3D printing a high quality replica for outreach.
