The name **Lilith** stems from lilû, lilîtu, and (w)ardat lilî). The Akkadian word lilû is related to the Hebrew word lilit appearing in Isaiah 34:14, which is thought to be a night bird by some modern scholars. In Mesopotamian religion, found in the cuneiform texts of Sumer, Assyria, and Babylonia, lilîtu is a spirit or demon. Many have also connected her to the Mesopotamian demon Lamashtu, who shares similar traits and a similar position in mythology to Lilith.

Tlaloc was a member of the pantheon of gods in Aztec religion. As supreme god of the rain, Tlaloc was also a god of earthly fertility and of water. He was widely worshipped as a beneficent giver of life and sustenance. However, he was also feared for his ability to send hail, thunder, and lightning, and for being the lord of the powerful element of water. Tlaloc is also associated with caves, springs, and mountains, most specifically the sacred mountain in which he was believed to reside. Religiosity

This marble carving is a **heraldic coat of arms (stemma)** located inside the Siena Cathedral. The shield prominently features a **lion in a rampant pose**, a common symbol representing strength, courage, and authority. Such emblems were used to identify noble families, bishops, or important patrons associated with the cathedral.

These coats of arms were typically installed on altars, chapels, or architectural elements to signify **patronage and contribution**. Wealthy families or church officials who funded construction, decoration, or restoration works were often granted the privilege of displaying their crest within the cathedral.

Beyond decoration, the carving reflects Siena’s historical social and political structure, where religion, power, and family identity were closely intertwined.
