Initially designed and started in anime style, ended up switching direction to a more realistic style with PBR texture. One can probably tell from the hair. Still working on a short animation clip with this character. EDIT: added the animation (16/11/2020) On a side note, 鬼 has two pronuciations, one is the familiar Oni, the other is Ki (you might heard it from the recent popular anime Demon Slayer). 機 in 機械, which means machine, is also pronuced as Ki. So 鬼械 is my probably very bad attempt at a pun, which can be interpreted as Demon Machine. 姫 literally means princess, but I just use it as fancy way of saying maiden. I designed the character under a bit of Japanese cultural influence, such as the mask, the horns, and the katana. In my defence Japanese is not my first language, and I'm not very good at puns either, I gave it a shot, don't judge me.
