My entry for the Lights, Camera, Immersion! community contest.

This is the environment from the last battle scene in Saving Private Ryan. I chose this because when watching the film the audience becomes so familar with this location. Before the battle Captain Miller goes through the battle plan with the other soldiers while wakling around this area, this gives the viewer a great sense of the lay out of the town. The choreography of the battle itself also makes the audience very aware of where each character is in the town, this ephasises the tension as the Allied soliders are pushed back and back towards "The Alamo", the point at which they have lost the battle and must blow the bridge.

Tachi is a Corvette-class light frigate belonging to MCRN (Martian Congressional Republic Navy) with multiple roles, such as torpedo bomber and boarding party insertion. Later on Tachi was renamed to “Rocinante” by James Holden and served as his ship for the rest of the story.

Highway Fence

We modeled the brain structure of Tyrannosaurus rex by CT scanning a fossilized braincase (AMNH FR 5117) from the collection of the American Museum of Natural History. We segmented the brain cavity and associated internal structures using Avizo, yielding what's known as a brain endocast. We then cleaned up the model in Maya, tweaked and branded it in Zbrush, and then uploaded it to Sketchfab. Ryan Ridgely did the 3D visualization work, and Witmer and Ridgely published a scientific article on tyrannosaur brain evolution, including this specimen, in 2009 (https://bit.ly/3TuVtqp). An OBJ file can be downloaded here and, if necessary, converted to an STL for 3D printing. Not for commercial use.

This model is of the armored ankylosaurian ornithischian dinosaur *Euoplocephalus tutus* (AMNH FR 5405). The specimen was CT scanned at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio, in 2005 as part of a research project, leading to publications in 2008 (http://bit.ly/2pp5V5C) and 2011 (http://bit.ly/2rCNCsT). This Sketchfab model was generated by Ryan Ridgely of WitmerLab and is derived from recent work done for the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History for a new interactive exhibit. This research was funded in part by U.S. National Science Foundation grants to Witmer and Ridgely, and by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Euoplocephalus - armored dinosaur skull

Skull and neck of an adult green iguana (_Iguana iguana_, OUVC 10677), with annotations of some of the more obscure anatomical features. It was collected legally and euthanized humanely by Zoo Miami staff and provided to us for research and education. We scanned the head region on the OUµCT scanner in 2012 at a resolution of 90µm (0.090 mm). Scan data were imported into workstations running Avizo and digitally extracted the bones and soft tissues. The work on this project was done primarily by Alexandra Spaw, who at the time was an undergraduate student in Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College and now is a medical student at Ohio State University. Ryan Ridgely assembled these materials in Maya for upload here. For more 3D content on this specimen, check out the Visible Interactive Iguana site: http://bit.ly/1LzIU6x. Green Iguana skull - OUVC 10677

This model accompanies the Visible Interactive Pachycephalosaur website on the WitmerLab at Ohio University site: http://bit.ly/2ekqtpO. The specimen is the skull of the pachycephalosaurian dinosaur Stegoceras validum (UALVP 2), collected from the Dinosaur Park Formation of Alberta, Canada, and housed at the University of Alberta. Our team published on this specimen in 2014 in an article by Jason Bourke, Ruger Porter, Ryan Ridgely, Tyler Lyson, Emma Schachner, Phil Bell, and Lawrence Witmer (http://bit.ly/1p5x0Ip). This research was funded in part by U.S. National Science Foundation grants to Witmer and Ridgely.

Stegoceras - pachycephalosaur dinosaur skull

3D animation of the cranial kinesis mechanism of an adult scarlet macaw skull (Ara macao, OUVC 10633). Ryan Ridgely generated the animation using inverse kinematics in Maya, based on the 3D model that WitmerLab PhD student Jann Nassif assembled from the µCT-scan data. Ryan also used for reference our video of cranial kinesis in a hyacinth macaw (http://bit.ly/2aeTamz). El 911 Carrera 4 fue el primer 911 con tracción total. Su tracción total permanente con regulación electrónica dirigía normalmente el 31 % del par motor al eje delantero y el 69 % al trasero. Según la situación, la distribución variaba. En la consola central del Carrera 4 había un mando de bloqueo para la tracción. Su motor de 3.6 l tenía una potencia de 250 CV.
