Zalipie, a village in southern Poland, is most famous for its folk art. Local artists have been covering houses in traditional floral motifs, a custom with roots back in the 18th century, when housekeepers would lighten sooty interiors of their huts by covering them with limewash. Through the 19th century the practice evolved into a habit of decorating cottages - both on the inside and on the outside - with colorful painted ornaments. The tradition has been kept up in the 20th century by dedicated artists like Felicja Curyłowa (1904-1974) and - thanks to her and her followers - to this day we can admire unique local art, and house painting contests are still held to support this live tradition. The 3D model was created based on one of the oldest, finest examples of a Zalipie painted house.

The 2001 BMW M3 GTR GT (E46) is a race car developed by BMW based on their M3 E46.

The M3 GTR GT appears on the box art of Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
In all of the its appearances in the Need for Speed series, the M3 GTR GT is fitted with a racing body kit only used in various 2001 racing series, and is likely an oversight from the hero car design's numerous iterations from a road car with a racing body kit[8][9] into a race car.[10]
It features LED rear lights that were not introduced to the E46 model range until April 2003.
It is missing an air intake and tow hook in place of the washer jet cover below the passenger side headlight.
It is missing its wing mirror air vents.
Portrayed in the box art, it is fitted with ADR M Sport wheels, instead of BBS Motorsport RE594 / RE595 wheels.

Made with Fusion 360. A toy car with double-acting 1-cylinder compressed air engine (like the steam locomotives have). Has steering, which even works. I call it "vapemobile" because of the remote shape).

*Strix varia*, or the barred owl, can be commonly found in dense forests and wooded swamps in southwestern Canada, Washington, Oregon and northern California. The barred owl is, on average 48-51 cm tall, and has a rounded-head with grey-white facial disc. Where many owls have ear tufts, the barred owl does not.

The small serrations on an owl’s primary feathers creates small vortices reducing noise from wind drag to near zero. The silent flight of owls inspired the biomimetic solution to wind noise caused by the Shinkansen Bullet Train as it travels near 350km/h. These serrations also inspired the redesign of  Ziehl-Abegg, Inc’s fan blades, reducing noise and improving energy efficiency. 3D scan of the family house, in which my grandmother grew up!

It is located in the middle of fields in the "[Côte des Légendes](https://goo.gl/BhWdrr)" area in Brittany in France, and initially served as a farmhouse, a barn and a stable: there is still a massive granite trough inside the main building, which purpose was to feed the animals.

Processed from 670 pictures on Pocophone F1, some of them acquired with a 4.5m telescopic glass-washing handle, used as a (tall) DIY monopod. I still had to manually correct and paint some of the higher parts of the model for it to display nicely, as well as carve into the windows to improve on realism. The normals (Matcap + Surface) are not baked from bump maps, but actual geometry.

This raccoon baculum, or penis bone, has a groove near one end. This groove suggests 	that a cord was once tied around the object, probably to form a necklace. Male raccoons 	are known for their sexual aggression, which means this object may have been a fertility 	symbol. This object was recovered archaeologically from the House for Families at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. It was 3D scanned with a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner in the archaeology laboratory at George Washington's Mount Vernon. Description by Virginia Commonwealth University student Jessica Evans. After Venus in furs from the Velvet Underground ([listen on youtube](https://youtu.be/AwzaifhSw2c)), here is a marine wooden version of Venus de Milo, burnt, washed by the sea, then repaired by a skilled craftsman !

The modeling is done with simple boolean operation in blender, using an intermediate object sculpted by hand to carve the holes.

The materials are, as usual, a mix of various PBR textures and simple Cycles nodes setups to mix in the zones of influence of the materials.

There are way too many triangles and textures on that model in my taste... I'll probably upload a replacement with a more optimized version soon as I am quite happy with the results.
