Jaguar Sculpture with Spike

Rock 12, the is the largest area of exposed bedrock at Seradina and, with its hundreds of carvings, constitutes an exceptional window on the world of the Iron Age Valcamonica tribes.

The wide surface is one of the most important and well-known in the whole of Valcamonica rock art and is marked by themes which make it unique in the context of the local Iron Age.

The central part of the rock is occupied by the imposing scene of a procession of spear-holding horsemen hunting deer and followed by dogs.  The dogs are unusually represented with their jaws wide open and tongue clearly visible.  The hunting horsement theme is not uncommon in the rock art areas of middle Valcamonica and may probably underline the aristocratic status of the carved figures.  Their high social status and wealth is illustrated by their possession of a horse, which constituted a rare and precious commodity in prehistoric times.

Tripod vase in brown and black, with incised and fluted decoration. It has a rounded lip, flat rim, straight walls, and convex base. The cylindrical supports include rattles and vertical flutes. The incised decoration depicts a snake with open jaws. Original pre-Hispanic vessel, with apparent contemporary intervention consisting of a decorative band.

Modeled ocarina with two resonance chambers, depicting a man disguised as a reptile (lizard or iguana). Man with reptile or iguana disguise

Zoomorphic sculpture representing a jaguar in a seated position, with the forelimbs extended forward and the tail carved at the back. The figure has erect ears, open eyes, open jaws displaying the teeth, and a collar with a rectangular pendant. The Cultural Heritage Registry classifies the piece as originating from the Highlands; however, other very similar examples are known from the Pacific Coast, specifically the Cotzumalguapa area, Escuintla.

Zoomorphic Sculpture in the form of a Jaguar

Stuccoed anthropomorphic skull, apparently female, that has teeth in both jaws and a complete cochlea. The skull is covered in stucco which was modeled to show a face with feline features, with open eyes, a prominent nose, open mouth and modeled ears. It is probably a jaguar, given the supernatural importance of such animal in Mayan culture. This piece was analyzed with the Carbon 14 test which dated it to the 16th century, just before the time of the Contact with the Europeans.

Free Strawberry and chocolate waffle Chibi Neko

Bifacial zoomorphic hacha carved from basalt. It represents the effigy of a serpent’s head shown in profile, including part of the body. The polished surface is decorated with grooves and moldings, featuring an open circular eye with a thickened brow ridge, open jaws, and a body rendered with thickened, curved, scale-like sections. At the center, there is a transverse opening in the shape of an inverted “L.”

Yoke in the Shape of a Double-Headed Serpent

Rectangular ceramic box with lid. The lid is decorated with an anthropomorphic figure in relief, possibly a warrior, wearing a helmet in the form of a feline (jaguar) head with open jaws. The full-body figure is rendered using modeling and appliqué techniques. The box bears the image of a knot in relief, with pendant volutes. Traces of white stucco remain. From the Guatemalan Highlands, possibly Quiché.

Box with Man in Jaguar Attire

Bifacial stone hacha worked on both faces, representing the head of a feline, probably a jaguar, in profile, with open jaws revealing teeth and prominent fangs. Within the mouth appears the inverted head of a human figure, possibly alluding to decapitation sacrifice. The hacha displays a high degree of detail in the brow, blunt nose, and dentition. A perforation is present on the posterior side.

Zoomorphic Feline-shaped Hacha

This is just a cluster of what is very likely the lineage of Modern Homo Sapiens. Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus(Used Pekin Skull as there are not complete adult African Erectus Skull as complete nor as generalized),  Early Sapiens(Jebel Irhoud) and a Modern yet very Robust Australian Aboriginal Skull(Pintupi). I wish I had the mode of Omo Kibish I 3d model to place it in between Jebel Irhoud and Pintupi 1. 

Jebel Irhoud reconstruction was performed by Adam Worthington. Habilis, Erectus were sourced directly from Adam Worthington page. Pintupi 1 Cranium was generated by me using Advanced Photogrametry Techniques from publicly available media. All models are 1:1 scale. Pintupi mandible is merged with the skull and I have not been able to separate it. The rest of the models mandible/jaws can be separated on a 3D slicer.

Homo Sapiens Morphological Lineage

Yoke carved from greenish granite, decorated with a relief representation of a stylized jaguar face or a serpent in profile at both ends. It features volute-shaped brows and semi-open jaws displaying fangs. Traces of red pigment are visible, evidence of the original polychromy. Yokes are objects that have been associated with the Mesoamerican ballgame.
