This is the Hardy Tree in [St Pancras Old Church](https://goo.gl/9AiihJ), Camden, London, UK ([OSM](https://goo.gl/ydVXeA)). The tree was reportedly planted by the author Thomas Hardy and the roots are embedded in pile of gravestones.

The point cloud is a combination of a RIEGL VZ-400 scan and a ZEB-REVO (to get detail around the gravestones). Scanning done by University College London ([@kungphil](https://twitter.com/kungphil), [@mathiasdisney](https://twitter.com/mathiasdisney), [@UCLgeography](https://twitter.com/UCLgeography)).

A Hindu temple, or mandir or koil in Indian languages, is a house, seat and body of divinity for Hindus. It is a structure designed to bring human beings and gods together through worship, sacrifice, and devotion. The symbolism and structure of a Hindu temple are rooted in Vedic traditions, deploying circles and squares. It also represents recursion and the representation of the equivalence of the macrocosm and the microcosm by astronomical numbers, and by "specific alignments related to the geography of the place and the presumed linkages of the deity and the patron". A temple incorporates all elements of the Hindu cosmos — presenting the good, the evil and the human, as well as the elements of the Hindu sense of cyclic time and the essence of life — symbolically presenting dharma, artha, kama, moksa, and karma

13 Star Flag of the United States

At EROS Data Center is a large globe that NASA commissioned to familiarize the astronauts with Earth's geography. This was in part so the astronauts could figure out where they were while in orbit. I snapped about 63 photos with my LG G4 in manual mode to create this raised relief map. Enjoy!

Dish With Sailing-ship Design

This statuette depicts Ptah, the chief god of Egypt's capital city Memphis and master craftsman of the gods. He is easy to identify by his tight-fitting cap, straight beard (different from the usual curved divine beard on other gods), and enveloping mummiform garment. The garment has a shallow stiff upper edge along the back of the neck, a feature that occurs with some regularity also on Osiris statuettes, but its meaning is unclear. Commonly Ptah holds a scepter that combines the symbols for life (ankh), dominion (was), and stability (djed), but here he holds only the was scepter, hearkening back to earlier representations of the god. Ptah was a benevolent and approachable god, characteristics that may have inspired his devotees to dedicate numerous representations of him in the Late and Ptolemaic Periods.

Ochate (en euskera Otxate, es un despoblado español que forma parte del municipio de Condado de Treviño, en la provincia de Burgos, comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. El lugar ha tomado fama desde finales del siglo XX debido a supuestos fenómenos paranormales. Ochate significa en euskera, según algunas interpretaciones, «puerta secreta» o «puerta del frío», mientras que otras señalan que deriva del nombre antiguo de Gogate, «pueblo de arriba», en referencia a la geografía del lugar.

Ochate is a ghost town that is currently part of the municipality of Condado de Treviño, in the province of Burgos, Castilla y León (Spain).[1] The place has become famous since the end of the 20th century due to alleged paranormal phenomena. Ochate means in Basque, according to some interpretations, secret door or door of the cold, while others point out that it derives from the ancient name of Gogate, upper town, in reference to the geography of the place.

Claudius Ptolemy, Constellation Summoner is one of the many Anceint Greek Philosopher Heros, part of my series where I reimagine Greek Philosophers as Greek Heros. Claudius Ptolemy was a 2nd‑century Alexandrian astronomer, mathematician, and geographer whose geocentric model and works like the Almagest and Geography shaped scientific thought for over a millennium. His influence dominated astronomy until the Copernican revolution and guided mapmaking well into the Age of Exploration That's why I've reimagined him as a heroric summoner of constellations alongside two of his best known constelations Orion the Hunter and Pegasus. This is my first multi-file drop but I'm sure it won't be the last-  Stay tuned for more Greek Philosopher Heros and follow to see what comes next!
