The Silver Dollar Piranha (Metynnis Argenteus) clearly seems piranha-ish but not the same family as the red belly piranha, or any of the Serrasalmus, thats prolly why the latin name mentions  a different family, namely Metynnis, its silvery color explains the Argenteus (Silver) but im still confused why its rare red stripe or line has not been taken into account when naming it, cause it is so striking for correct identification. Very beautiful fish, if you manage to not fall asleep watching it. Maybe its discoverer did just that ha

Hemicidaris crenularis

This 3D model represents a preserved section of the deck construction of the 17th-century Dutch fluyt (fluitschip) Double Dutch (NCN 34303), documented during the 2025 field campaign. The wreck (31m x 6m), discovered in 2022 in the Dutch Wadden Sea near Kornwerderzand, was subject to systematic archaeological investigation between 2023 and 2025. The surviving deck structure provides valuable evidence for the vessel’s internal arrangement and load-bearing framework, and contributes to the interpretation of the ship as a two-deck armed merchantman. Together with the other recorded structural components, it supports identification of the vessel as a fluyt measuring approximately 120 Amsterdam feet.

Double Dutch Fluyt: deck assembly

The Spangled Emberwing (Eurrhyparodes lygdamis) is a small moth in the Crambidae family, found from the United States (Florida to Texas) down to South America. Described by Herbert Druce in 1902, it is known for its delicate, patterned wings and is recognized by computer vision models, often appearing in species identification apps

This model presents part of the keel and floor timber assembly of the 17th-century Dutch fluyt (fluitschip) Double Dutch (NCN 34303), recorded during photogrammetric survey in 2025. As a principal structural element of the ship’s bottom construction, this assembly provides significant information on building sequence, framing arrangement, and hull architecture. The wreck (31m x 6m) , located near Kornwerderzand in the Dutch Wadden Sea, has been provisionally dated to c. 1680 on the basis of dendrochronological evidence and associated material culture. In conjunction with the vessel’s recorded dimensions and other constructional features, this element reinforces the identification of the wreck as a two-deck Dutch fluyt.

The zoomorphic figurine is composed of a mixture of beige-brown and gray clay, with a significant presence of small stones. The legs, the upper part of the head, and the front of the face are broken and missing, which makes identification of the species difficult. However, the posture suggests a ruminant, although the tail is merely stylised. An indentation is observable on the back of the animal.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.

Ligaments of the Female Pelvis

This object is a computational reconstruction of Boy’s Surface, the classical immersion of the real projective plane (RP²) into 3D space. 

It is generated from the Bryant–Kusner parametrization on a projective disc with antipodal boundary identification, making the topology explicit rather than treating the surface as a simple smooth shell. 

The mesh contains 41,472 vertices and over 371k total edges, including ring, spoke, braid, triad, and seam families that reveal the internal organization of the surface and emphasize its characteristic threefold symmetry. 

Spectral encoding maps intrinsic geometric fields into vertex color and scale, turning the object into both a topological visualization and an informational geometric artifact. 

Because RP² cannot embed in 3D without self-intersection, the surface is shown here as an immersed form, where those intersections arise naturally from the topology itself.
