Saw this on a highway driving through Nevada, so I HAD to capture it.

In what must have seemed like a good idea at the time, the owners of the brothel promoted an interesting challenge with a very naughty prize. A mattress would be placed in the center of a large star painted on the desert floor—if one were to parachute out of an airplane (airplane provided) and land on the mattress, they would be the lucky winner of a night with the lady of his choice, on the house!

Unsurprisingly, things went horribly wrong. Long story short, scantily-clad women plus distracted, inexperienced pilot plus heavy cross winds equal the plane plummeting straight into the ground. The Tobacco Warehouse on 1103 N. Caroline St. was constructed for leaf tobacco storage circa
1875 by Becker Bros., a Baltimore firm formed by German immigrants.
Over the years the building has been a warehouse for the Baumgarten & Co.
toy manufacturers and stationers’, an upholstery shop, a roller skating
rink, a mattress factory, cabinet makers, a furniture repair shop, and
artist and maker studios.

New development has been proposed by Cross St Partners to convert it into a mixed use space for offices, production, and/or retail space.
