The ZiS-2 was a Russian 57-mm anti-tank gun used during World War II. Development started in May 1940 and in the beginning of 1941 the gun was adopted as 57-mm anti-tank gun model 1941 (ZiS-2). The velocity and mass of the armour-piercing 57 mm projectile allowed it to attain sufficient kinetic energy to penetrate up to 90 mm of armour RHA while keeping the gun sufficiently light, mobile and easy to conceal. It is a automated-action gun with vertical block breech.  The rate of fire can reach 25 rounds per minute. The carriage has coil spring suspension, which allows towing with a speed of up to 50 km/h (31 mph) on highways

Ticks (order Ixodida) are parasitic arachnids that feed on the blood of mammals, birds, and reptiles. Though tiny, they pose serious health risks due to their ability to transmit diseases like Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and anaplasmosis. Ticks latch onto hosts using specialized mouthparts, piercing the skin and feeding for hours or even days.

Found in grassy, wooded, and humid environments, ticks are most active during warmer months. They detect hosts through body heat and carbon dioxide, then climb aboard to feed. After engorging, they drop off to continue their life cycle.

Preventing tick bites involves wearing protective clothing, using repellents, and checking for ticks after outdoor activities. Despite their reputation, ticks play a role in ecosystems, but their potential to spread disease makes awareness and prevention essential.

During World War II, the first generation of guided bombs was developed as nations sought ways to improve bombing accuracy against heavily defended or high-value targets. Early examples included Germany’s Fritz X, a radio-guided armor-piercing bomb used against warships; the American GB-4, one of the first U.S. television-guided glide bombs; the AS-2 BAT, a radar-guided glide bomb designed to autonomously home in on naval targets; and Japan’s Ki-148, a radio-controlled guided bomb intended for precision attacks. Strade Dominican Friary, National Monument No. 172.  The abbey at Strade dates to the mid-13th century, when it first started as a Franciscan Friary, established by the Lord of Athlethan (Ballylahan), Jordan de Exeter. The Dominican friars moved into Strade in 1253. The priory was dedicated to the Holy Cross & was a daughter house of Sligo Dominican priory (SL014-068008-).  A papal indulgence granted in 1434  may have resulted in a rebuilding phase of the church.  The carving of the vulning pelican (from the Latin vulnerō, “to wound”) on the north wall of the crossing tower of the friary church dates from the 15th-century.  In Medieval Christianity, the pelican feeding its young with its own blood was a symbol for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross & the Eucharist.  Also known as the Pelican in Her Piety, the bird piercing it's breast to shed blood is an allegory of Christ on the Cross, a symbol of the Passion of Christ. Musician with a Rattle

This is a very old figure.  The graceful, curved lines define the head, body and hindquarters of a hunted deer, with antlers and a piercing spear that are pecked.  The head faces backwards, curving over the upper body.

The majority view seems to be that this would date back to the Epipaleolithic period (equivalent to our Mesolithic), about 8000 years BP.

However, according to recent research, this figure could be an equid, dated on comparisons with other prehistoric rock-art figures to the end of the Upper Paleolithic, about 13,000 years BP.  This would then be, by far, the most ancient rock engraving known in Valcamonica.

The overall design straddles the line between fantasy and steampunk styles fitting both the setting of a war weapon crafted by a master craftsman in medieval fantasy themes and the narrative of a retro weapon modified by machinery in the steampunk universe. It is a distinctive weapon that combines visual tension with practical functionality.
