The decoration consists of six panels with stylized anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures (lizards or earth monsters) in relief, followed by a basal molding composed of multiple psittacine bird heads (parrots or macaws) shown in left profile. The supports possibly represent the god Tlaloc, wearing a tall feathered headdress, with round eyes, circular earspools, a necklace with spherical beads, and a trapezoidal nose ornament. NAA of the paste indicates the origin or manufacturing area as the Pacific Coast region, Escuintla.

Feline

Anthropomorphic whistle in the form of a seated woman with her legs flexed forward. She wears a dress with a wide neckline that leaves the shoulders exposed and short sleeves. Her hair is tied up with a textile bow, and the bangs are cut in a stepped style characteristic of the Usumacinta River region. She wears a necklace, earspools, and wristbands, and in her right hand holds what may be a petate (woven mat), a rolled piece of cloth, or a bundle of small sticks. The whistle mouthpiece is located at the front, between the legs. Traces of white and blue pigment remain. The figurine was produced using a mold with hand-modeled details.

Whistle figurine

This finely carved stone sculpture depicts the head of a youthful male figure, possibly a noble or a representation of the Maize God. The figure features slanted eyes, an aquiline nose, and hair tied upward, adorned with a feathered headdress, circular earspools, and a headband. The stepped fringe is particularly notable, a stylistic trait associated with sites along the Usumacinta River (Mexico and Guatemala).

Lot of two (2) tubular earspools with elongated posterior ends, made of shell, snail, or bone (one  is incomplete). Each piece has two lobes at the proximal end with perforated openings that may have held inlays of another material.

Earspool/ Earflare

Polychrome plate (red, black, and white on dark orange) with tubular supports containing rattles. The interior surface is decorated with a red band along the rim, followed by a band featuring two stylized zoomorphs (a jaguar and a possible reptile) extending across the entire inner wall. At the center, a scene portrays two figures seated on a throne painted black with red and white circles, engaged in a conversational posture.  The principal figure, is seated and shown in left profile, wearing a headdress, earspools, necklace, and pectoral, with a loincloth decorated with jaguar-skin motifs. The secondary figure is kneeling in an attitude of reverence. The surface retains areas of repainting.

Urn with slightly concave walls, a pedestal base, and two lateral tabs. The vessel has an everted rim with pinched edging, painted white. At the center of the vessel wall is a relief representation of the Old God (Pahuahtún), wearing a headband and a snail positioned atop the head, with round earspools and a beaded necklace with pectoral. The deity features open eyes, expression lines, and wrinkles achieved through incision, and an open mouth showing a single tooth on the left side. The image is framed by two bands decorated with depressions. Place of provenance: Guatemalan Highlands, Quiché region.

Urn with Old God (Pahuahtún)

Anthropomorphic clay figurine representing a standing man with arms crossed in front and the right hand raised. The figure wears a cord-style necklace and wristbands painted with Maya blue pigment, a color associated with the sacred and the celestial in the Mesoamerican worldview. He also wears disc-shaped elements on the necklace, circular earspools, a loincloth, and what appears to be a cap with several perforations on the head, possibly intended for the insertion of decorative elements such as feathers, beads, or organic materials. The arrangement of adornments and the posture suggest a figure of high rank or ceremonial function. This piece forms a pair with the female figurine No. 16.2.5.97, suggesting a shared narrative or contextual relationship.

Male figurine with inlay holes

Urn with flat lateral flanges and a pedestal support, decorated with the face of the solar deity K’inich in relief, featuring feline attributes such as rounded ears. The face presents open eyes and mouth, circular earspools, and a blue banded necklace, while two applied elements beneath the face appear to represent the figure’s hands. Traces of red, white, and blue pigment remain. The urn dates to the Postclassic period and originates from the Quiché region in the Guatemalan Highlands.

Anthropomorphic polyglobular flute depicting a human figure wearing a tall headdress decorated with vertical incisions and red circular motifs. The figure displays rectangular earspools with applied round elements and a necklace composed of spherical beads. As a musical instrument, it comprises eight chambers, with the blowing chamber located in the upper section and five tone holes or finger stops (three on the front and two on the back), three of which are protruding (Rodens et al., 2013: 142).

Earspool / Earflare

This  incense burner features a conical lid with a ceremonial enclosure, within which a richly adorned figure is represented. The figure wears a tall headdress, a trapezoidal nose ornament—possibly a stylized butterfly—and earspools, all elements that emphasize its ritual and symbolic significance. The enclosure is framed by what appear to be “3 mountain glyphs” evoking associations with sacred warfare and sacrifice. The convex surface of the lid is decorated with shells and snails, materials linked to aquatic realms and the underworld in Mesoamerican cosmology.
