It was a very challenging endeavor but with persistency of someone within the spectrum, I challenged myself to complete this model. I pushed the limits of what's currently possible with technology.

King Richard III Skull 3D Model

One of the two wayside crosses at the cross roads in Tullaroan. This one still looks more cross shaped and has a figure carved on it. It possibly depicts a female, if I understand the description on the HEV correctly. It is too defaced to say now, in my opinion.

Tullaroan: wayside cross

Possible doorjamb fragment at Threecastles Graveyard. The south door of the church is blocked up, so it could have come from there. There is no public access to the entrance into the towerhouse, so maybe it came from that, on the other hand. It stands 0.41m above ground, the rebate for the door or other ashlar stones is on the south side now, the chamfer on the SE side. The chamfer has a width of 0.11m, the stone is 0.25m deep and 031m wide. Unlike the other doorjamb fragment, it has no decorations, so they probably did not come from the same doorway.

A corbel carved into a human head, very likely from the ruined St Ite's Church in Killeedy, similar to the other head. It is now lying next to the holy well dedicated to Saint Ite (or Saint Ida) and is unfortunately part of the pattern, so that pilgrims carve a cross into the face, thereby defacing the beautiful medieval stone carver's work. It looks (with the Matcap mode on) like it is a Green Man.

This is not (yet) recorded by the National Monuments Service as an architectural fragment, but it should be.

Killeedy: Corbel head 2

Former floor slab for John Cantwell and his wife Elicia Stouc, now standing upright against the north wall of the chancel of Kilcooley Abbey Church. It is signed by Callan stone carver Rory O'Tunney on the central part with the R he used on the Butler tomb at Kilcooley and other places in Co. Kilkenny. The slab has an inscription in blacklettering running around the left, top and right border starting with "Hic jacet Johanes Ca(n)twell". Since the inscription mentions his wife as well, the verb should be "jacent", and maybe it is and I overlooked the n ligature.

Carrigan (1905) read "HIC IACET JOHANES CATWELL QUODA DUS DE MOYLASSAIN Qi OBIIT I VIGILA SCI / PATRICI A DO M/ CCCCCXXXII ET ELICIA STOUC EI' UXOR / RORICUS OTWNYE SCRIPSIT".

A rock outcrop that is used as a penitentiary station in Gortgarriff and has associations with Kilcatherine Church not far west from it.

Gortgarriff: Hag of Beara

Gothic doorway with pointed arch and punch dressing in the southeast wall of Tisaran (Teach Sáráin) in County Offaly. The limestone doorway features two different chamferstops and a drawbar slot on the interior.

Tisaran (Moystown Demesne): Church Doorway

A voussoir or arch stone now lying to the side of the main access point into the church at Ballyellin. It is made from granite, like the other voussoirs and the in situ door jambs. It likely formed one side of the (pointed?) arch doorway.

Ballyellin Church: voussoir

A holy well along the stations around the site of St Gobnait in Ballyvourney. It is very close to the building called "St Gobnait's Kitchen", and as one can tell by the crosses and devotionalia, it is considered holy. It is however NOT St Gobnait's Well.

Ballyvourney: Holy well at Gobnait's kitchen

The top part of a medieval (likely 14th to 15th century) window, very likely from Killeedy Church ruin aka Saint Ite's Church, since it is lying in the graveyard close to the holy well. It is a single-light ogee window and might have come from the east gable. The east gable was too overgrown with ivy to make a judgement about what is missing there.

Not recorded by the National Monuments Service as an architectural fragment as of March 2026.

Killeedy: window fragment

The remains of the doorway at Ballyellin Church. The inner width is only 0.68m which makes me believe that it was an internal doorway to a side chapel. There has been some inadequate repair work done in the past using concrete which would hopefully no longer happen these days.

Ballyellin Church: Doorway

One of the corbels with a decorative head resting near St Ite's Well in Killeedy, County Limerick. Unfortuntely, the pilgrims have carved a cross into its forehead disfiguring it somewhat. It very likely came from the church. I presume that because the hair isn't covered and there seems to be a beard indicated, it is a man.

It is not recorded as an architectural fragment by the National Monuments Service.

Killeedy: Corbel head 1

One of the cross slabs in the west wall of what marks the outline of a medieval church (OF014-029008-) at Gallen in County Offaly. The HEV describes it as "Incised double outline compass drawn cross or petal design with tips truncated, enclosed in triple outline circle. Intersections of petals occur short of circular hollow in centre, creating a lozenge figure."

Gallen: Cross Slab

Saint Saran's Well or Tobar na Saran (according to the signpost, but it should be *Tobar na Sáráin*, if the church was *Teach Sáráin*) in the townland of Moystown Demesne in Offaly. It has a steel enclosure with a gate and no cup or anything to get to the water which seemed rather low that day. The diameter of the well is about 1m. The pattern has seized to be celebrated.

Moystown Demesne: St Saran's Well

The stunning west doorway into the church of Manisternagalliaghduff Augustinian nunnery in Oldabbey, County Limerick. The original foundation dates back to the 13th century. This is the best preserved carved part of the nunnery, seconded by the [piscina](https://skfb.ly/pHLZr) and sedilia. Not many more carves stones survive (apart maybe from minor blocked-up doorways).

The remains of the holy water stoup at Threecastles Church, first described (on the other side of the doorway) in the Ordnance Survey letters.

The church is in private ownership and only accessible by permission which I had on that occasion.

Threecastles: holy water stoup

A fine Gothic limestone piscina in the South interior wall of Ballyconra Church ruin in County Kilkenny. It is good to see it still in situ, when they have been ripped out in other places. The church had been part of the Priory of Inistioge. The piscina looks very similar to the one in Thomastown's medieval church, even if made of a different material.

Ballyconra Church: Piscina

Two fragments of medieval (13th/14th century) cross slabs at Threecastles Graveyard. The both slat extremely to the east which made the scan rather difficult; I had to lie flat on my belly to photograph the underside, hence the blurriness. The left (S) one stands 0.43m above ground and has a 3 or 4 armed cross around a circular centre (diameter c.0.11m) with crude fleur-de-lys terminals, unless they are called something else, when they look like this. It is chamfered on what is now the top. 
The right (N) one stands 0.53m above ground and features a three or four armed cross around a lozenge shape in a double line. There are other graveslabs in the graveyard with that pattern. 
Both were described by Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 268) and by Madge Buggy (1969, p. 15), but not in much detail.

Theecastles Graveyard: 2 cross slab heads

Four voussoirs or arch stones lying within Ballyellin Church. All seem to be made from granite and were likely once part of a doorway and/or window, but they were not necessarily all used in the same structure.

Ballyellin Church: Voussoirs

This is a font shaped granite stone within the church ruin. I don't think it was ever finished carving and hence never used as a font, because the basin is too shallow and it has no drainage hole as prescribed by the Catholic Church in Ireland since 1189.

Because there is no drainage hole, there was water inside which messed with the scan, hence the amateurish extra plane to fill the hole.

Gortgarriff: Kilcatherine Cross

A stone inscribed in blacklettering (Gothic script) in the back side of the so called screen wall at St Mary's Church (now museum, whatever the name is when you read this) in Kilkenny. It is built into the wall upside down, but I have flipped it to make it easier to read:

"[...]?ny · quondam · burgensis · ville [...]<br />[...] · precorut · tua · i(n)ettabili · mia & gra[tia] ·tol? [...]<br />[...] · su[n]t · et · sepelientur · in · isto · loco · ame[n]" (partly taken from HEV description, but some of it is my reading).

The HEV gives the translation "ye sometime burgess of the town (of Kilkenny) / say a prayer you (who pass) and / was buried in this place. Amen." (line breaks added by me - it shold be "were buried", bc the verb is in the plural form)

St Mary's KK: inscribed stone

Cloch Uí Caoimh or O'Keeffe's Stone is a lifting stone in the village of Kells in County Kilkenny. Men used to (and do again) test their strength by lifting it. At 221kg, it is one of the heaviest in the country.
For a long time, it served as a jostle stone to keep the wheels of carriages (and later cars) from hitting the corner of the public house it was situated against. When a new footpath was built, its heritage was rediscovered, and it is now no longer set in concrete.

Kells: Cloch Uí Caoimh

The remains of the north doorway at Clomantagh Church in County Kilkenny. Most of the carved stone has been robbed out (maybe after part collapse), but one jamb stone survives in situ, and one of the drawbar slots as well. The ground level within the church is nearly a meter lower than on the outside, and I did not want to risk climbing in for the inside shots and being stuck there.

Clomantagh Church: North doorway

Fragmented incised cross slab now kept at the west end of St Lachtain's Church in Freshford. Stylistically, it dates to the 13th or 14th century. It is located in a fairly dark corner of the church, so I had to use a torch for a scan.

Beautifully carved piscina at the former Augustinian nunnery Manisternagalliaghduff in the townland of Oldabbey in County Limerick. A slightly dislodged cusped arch with lovely assymmetrical columns, similar to the west doorway into the church.
