Red ochre grave in Ligga, Jokkmokk municipality, Norrbotten, Sweden. Due to the ongoing erosion in the area Norrbottens museum began a rescue survey of the stone setting in 2022. The 3D-model shows the stone setting after the turf has been removed. In Norrbotten the burial tradition including stone settings filled with red ochre coloured sand can be dated to Late Mesolithic times. This tradition seems to have developed locally among people living around the Bothnian Bay.
