The facial depiction was created using the barbotine technique. The eyebrows, nose, upper lip and beard are formed from a three-dimensional clay overlay, while the eyes and ears are also sculpted in this manner. The depiction is further enhanced by the application of impressions made with a spatula tip. Furthermore, on the body incised, schematic representations of trees, flowers and animals can be seen. This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.
