Owls are nocturnal birds of prey (order Strigiformes) known for silent flight, exceptional night vision, and the ability to rotate their heads up to 270 degrees. Found worldwide, they are characterized by forward-facing eyes, hooked beaks, and, in many species, asymmetrical ears for locating prey. A group of owls is called a parliament.
