At nearly 2km from the north to the south of the city, a portico of about 7.50 m wide spreads on both sides of the high street that was the backbone of urban planning Apamea. The columns were surmounted by a curved frieze with continuous decoration of acanthus foliage, and not a Doric frieze mistakenly placed in 1935.
