Carranque is the site of a 4th century Roman villa that is protected as an archeological park by the Castile-La Mancha government. This villa contains some of the best preserved moasics in Spain. Across the floors of the villa are mosaics depicting the death of Adonis, two dogs named Leander and Titurus, and most recognized,  the god Oceanus, featuring crab antennas and claws and a wavy beard.

Chiesa San Pietro - Backside Facade  (Tuscania - VT)
San Pietro is a Romanesque and Gothic-style, Roman Catholic church just outside Tuscania, province of Viterbo, region of Lazio, Italy.
Facade of the church
The façade has a large rose window, decked with mosaics, hedged at the corners by the symbols of the four evangelists, and flanked by reliefs with elaborate carvings of plants, menagerie of animals, and a complex iconography of saints and figures of the old testament.
Below is a loggietta and on the ground is a sculpted main portal with a large rounded arch. The nave is flanked by rounded Romanesque arches and leads to a presbytery with a Ciborium for main altar. The presbytery has a geometric mosaic floor. The crypt has gothic tracery.

At nearly 2km from the north to the south of the city, a portico of about 7.50 m wide spreads on both sides of the high street that was the backbone of urban planning Apamea. The columns were surmounted by a curved frieze with continuous decoration of acanthus foliage, and not a Doric frieze mistakenly placed in 1935. On the floor of the portico, a series of mosaic dating from the year 469 CE.

It features square eyes, a prominent nose, and a semi-open mouth revealing three conical teeth—an unusual detail that may result from an incorrect restoration. The ears are decorated with shell inlays and square earspools with central perforations. Atop the head rises a trilobed element resembling a diadem, possibly associated with symbols of power or divinity. Traces of hematite are preserved at the joints of the mosaic.
