O-zutsu (translating to great/large cylinder) teppo classify the largest, mostly handheld, firearms with a caliber size of 20mm+ and caliber weight of 75g+, they fired either cannon balls, incendiary/explosive arrows or grapeshots. They were mounted on castle walls, used against pirates on merchant ships, on the battlefield on horseback and in sieges as blast weapons against door hinges. The size and weight made it difficult to use and was therefore mostly given to Samurai, and for this reason are also more artistically decorated than other more standard firearms.
