This room features the main part of Wilhelmina von Hallwyl’s collection of antique arms and armour.

The collection, typical of its period, focuses on arms for hunting and finely decorated pieces.

The weapons are hung according to their various categories, such as firearms, suits of armour and white-arms, and arranged in neat patterns. 

The esthetical experience of the room and its objects was important.

The Armoury

The DC-17 hand blaster, also known as DC-17 blaster pistol, was a heavy blaster pistol wielded by the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. An advanced firearm, it was fielded to elite soldiers in the army, most notably Advanced Recon Commandos, clone trooper commanders, and clone jet troopers.

PBR Viet Cong Homemade SMG

O-zutsu (translating to great/large cylinder) teppo classify the largest, mostly handheld, firearms with a caliber size of 20mm+ and caliber weight of 75g+, they fired either cannon balls, incendiary/explosive arrows or grapeshots. They were mounted on castle walls, used against pirates on merchant ships, on the battlefield on horseback and in sieges as blast weapons against door hinges.
The size and weight made it difficult to use and was therefore mostly given to Samurai, and for this reason are also more artistically decorated than other more standard firearms.

The term "anti-materiel" typically refers to firearms that fire larger caliber rounds like 12.7x108mm or .50 BMG, designed to destroy objects such as satellite dishes, water towers, and lightly armored vehicles rather than personnel. These firearms often have rounds that carry an explosive or incendiary payload. The DShK 1938 is a Soviet heavy machine gun that can be vehicle-mounted, used on a tripod, or placed on a wheeled carriage as a heavy infantry machine gun. Its name comes from its original designers, Vasily Degtyaryov and Georgi Shpagin. While the DShK is not intended to be an anti-material rifle, a person in Ukraine modified one into a handheld weapon, which appears unusual due to its oversized muzzle.

Ukrainian Makeshift DShK Anti-Materiel Rifle

The MG 42 is a WW2 era machinegun that was used by the Nazis. The firearm sported an impressive 1200 rounds per minute which gave it the nickname “Hitler’s Buzzsaw”.

The MG42 started out life as the MG34 which was functionally similar, but with a lower firerate and higher production costs. The MG34 was well received but had some crucial issues such as sensitivity to dirt.

The M1911 is a service pistol that has been in use since the year 1911. It has been in active service with multiple countries from then til now.

It was designed by John Browning and then sold to the Colt company.

The pistol remains an iconic firearm that has more than stood the test of time.

Here is the famous B.A.R M1918 A2 from WW2, without the bipod (soldiers used to get rid of it because of its congestion).

I did not include the handle in the rig, so you can easily remove or add it to respectively get an early version or a later version of the firearm.
