He wears a plain cap and a padded or fringed outfit, resembling the tlahuiztli costume known throughout Mesoamerica, traditionally associated with warriors of the Postclassic period. NAA analysis of the ceramic paste indicates the upper Chixoy River region as the place of manufacture.
