Der Mörser zählt zu den ältesten Werkzeugen der Menschheitsgeschichte und wurde bereits in der Antike zur Verarbeitung von Gewürzen, Kräutern und Arzneimitteln verwendet. In her lap, two cherubs present the octagonal primordial crystal – thus the figure simultaneously personifies Nature, who, in deep seclusion and under extreme pressure, ‘gives birth’ to the hardest of all gemstones.
