LENNOX CASTLE HOSPITAL, LENNOXTOWN UK situated at the western edge of the hospital complex, was built between 1837 and 1841 to designs by David Hamilton. In April 1925 Glasgow Parish Council resolved to build a new Mental Deficiency Institution under the provisions of the 1913 Act. In 1927 Lennox Castle and its vast estate were purchased, and plans prepared for what was to be the largest and best equipped hospital of this type in Britain. "La Manola" is the colloquial name for a sculptural fountain made of cast iron, approximately 3.20 meters high, located in the central area of the Parterre gardens, in the vicinity of the church of Santa María in the town of Daimiel (Ciudad Real, Spain). This composition was manufactured in the Mac Naughtan Bros foundry in the city of Glasgow based in Valencia, being installed in Daimiel in 1891.

The figure represents an upright young woman with her head slightly tilted to the right side of her. She is half-naked, dressed only by a cloth that partially covers her body. She presents her hair gathered and ornamented with a flowery crown. On her right shoulder he carries a cornucopia, while in her left hand he holds a bouquet of various flowers. The sculpture sits on a wide open-profile cup, decorated on its external face by bearded male masks. The iconographic attributes of her infer, although with a certain stylistic uncertainty, that she could represent the goddess Fortuna of the Roman world.

PBR Stylized Statue - Mage / Wizard

This single column steam hammer was built in 1907,  for  the opening of the Clyde Port Authority (Clyde Navigation Trust) repair workshops in Renfrew.

When the works closed the hammer was transferred, with other machinery, to the Scottish Maritime Museum.

It is an example of a steam hammer made to Rigby’s patent by the leading maker of such machines, RG Ross & Sons at their Greenhead Engine Works in Glasgow. It was used to forge replacement parts for the Clyde Navigation Trusts’s fleet of dredgers and hopper barges.

Steam hammes consists of a cast iron base plate and the hammer body which carries a steam piston and hammer head.

It was operated by pulling on the long metal lever on the right hand side. This released steam into the piston making the hammer head move down with great force.
A trained operator could vary the pressure the hammer head exerted - some chose to show off their skills by borrowing a watch, placing it under the hammer and halting the hammer head a fraction above the glass face.

2026.02.09 remnants of a bird on frozen lake

Port Glasgow born Harry ‘Chippy’ McNish was the carpenter on Sir Ernest Shackleton's ill-fated Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914–1917. He modified the lifeboat ‘James Caird’ enabling Shackleton and five crew, including McNish, to sail 800 miles over open seas for help. The modifications played an essential part in the rescue of the entire crew but sometimes forgotten in the retelling of this great adventure.

Low poly snowman modeled from scratch in Blockbench. Built using simple geometric shapes with a focus on clean silhouettes and a stylized, minimal aesthetic. The scarf and facial features were designed to add contrast and personality while keeping the model lightweight.

Textures were hand-painted directly in Blockbench to maintain a cohesive and simple look.

Created as a quick practice piece exploring low poly character design.

This model was generated from 417 images taken with Go Pro Hero 9 camera, using Agisoft Metashape softwarfe at low resolution. The photogrammetric survey was undertake after Spring tides has removed the overburden of windblow sand. In contrast to the survey undertaken on 14 November 2022, where an overburden of sand is evident. The wreck is that of the Francis Beddoe, a wooden ketch of 250 tons built at Saundersfoot in 1872  - it was the last vessel from the yard of Francis Beddoe on Railway Street (now The Strand). There are numerous small mentions appearing in the Shipping Intelligence columns of newspapers noting cargos and voyages - e.g. carrying maize, gravel, sand, slate from Porthmadoc and coal to ports such as Newport, Ulveston, Glasgow, Whitehaven, Bristol, London, Exeter, Bideford, Barnstaple, Boscastle, Carnarvon (from Thompson's colliery), Dundalk and Coleraine. Wreck of the Francis Beddoe 3 April 2021

Vasija asimétrica antropomorfa con decoración incisa y pintada en color rojo.  La cabeza presenta un rostro con sus rasgos en relieve. La línea de las cejas se inician en las orejas y se unen al centro del rostro dando origen a la nariz de tabique recto y dos preforaciones circulares que representan orificios nasales. Las orejas se han logrado mediante relieve y dos anchas perforaciones. Los ojos en forma de grano de café con una incisión central y la boca sobresaliente y de forma similar a los ojos. La superficie pulida presenta decoraciones incisas de líneas zigzagueantes de color negro y pintura roja aplicada post cocción. Cultura Llolleo. Donado en 1980 Juan Francisco Vargas	y procede de San Antonio.

The round ring plate features a motif in the form of a double flower with six outer and seven inner petals. The outer petals are decorated with radial lines, while the inner petals are raised and also decorated with radial lines. The background of the ring plate exhibits a cross-hatching pattern with an elevated surface. The ring band exhibits a solid structure, with a flat rectangular cross-section. The inscription "WOLMICHEINRASGI" is found on the ring band, which is misrepresentation of a German word, possibly due to an erroneous reproduction. The letters are applied to the cross-hatched background with a smooth consistency. 

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.
