A collection of reprocessed scanned animal skulls ([other free assets here](https://skfb.ly/6yQSW)), initally designed to be used as as game props, particles or for optimized renderings. 

**BUT**:  the method I used for remeshing and texture baking was not adapted in this case, and many normal inversions for instance have happened. Moreover, as these assets were batch-processed, I neglected some parts of the material, hence some black zones on the scans... 

You can of course still use them for your projects, but know that the quality on those baked models is not that good! Plus 1024px is too few for those complex objects...

Each model is made of 2500 triangles, and 1024 pixels albedo and normal maps.

The original scans were first remeshed with [mmgs](http://mmgtools.org), and decimated, UV unwrapped and baked in blender. Normal maps are ready to use for Unreal Engine, don't forget to flip their green channel in Unity!

# Process

* The initial mesh was remeshed to an intermediate object with Meshlab (quadric edge collapse decimation) and **mmgs** (6.8M -> 950k tris)
* Details (ropes and sword) were splitted from the horse body (mark sharp edges -> edge split -> separate), and batch remeshed for better results.
* The resulting meshes (70k tris total) were then manually unwrapped (+manifold edges seams) and merged.

# Material

The material was created from scratch on the high resolution object before being baked to 2K textures:

* Bronze patina on the top
* Mix of metals on the body
* Smoother metal on the edges

Hay Bales

This is a small dragon eye keychain designed to hold a 12mm glass eye, with an additional version that features a fully printed eye for an easy, all-in-one print.  These make awesome little gifts or “thank you” add-ons for customers, and they print quickly enough that you can batch a bunch at once without tying up your printer all day.  You can print these in multi-color or single color depending on your setup.  For the version shown, I used Bambu Lab Sparkle Alpine Green paired with Basic White, and it gives the eye a really nice contrast with a bit of shimmer. The sticks are in .fbx format, and each one is made of 150 triangles, and comes with 256px albedo and normal maps.

If you need high resolution of those props or different file formats, you'll probably find what you're looking for on the [Store version of this model](https://sketchfab.com/models/448b03c40ace4833abc15f928905c86c), which comes with 5 different LODs for each model, the higher ones having 15k triangles and 4096px textures.
