This helmet, with its rather special appearance, is one of the few preserved objects that we know was owned by the Swedish king [Gustav Vasa](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustav_I_of_Sweden). 

It was made in Germany in 1540, probably in Augsburg or Nuremberg, which were home to some of the most skilled armour makers of the time. The visor, the part that covers the face, did not originally belong to the helmet, but it is thought to be of the same period.

A helmet of this type was made not for battle but for celebratory occasions. In the 16th century, full suits of steel armour were the height of fashion. For parades and other royal festivities, the social elite would dress up in specially-made sets of costume armour with a close helmet. During these celebrations it became popular, in the early 16th century, to wear close helmets with grotesque visors in the form of animal or human faces, like this one, to enhance the festive atmosphere and heighten the sense of theatricality.

2026 Bugatti Tourbillon

Not far from the Nuraghe Losa, we find one of the best-known and most fascinating monuments in Sardinia: the well temple of Santa Cristina.  This underground temple certainly represents one of the peaks of nuraghic architectural mastery. It is constructed of perfectly squared stone blocks forming an access stairway leading down into a chamber with corbelled ceiling of exceptionally good workmanship. The water still today reaches the bottom of the chamber, filtering through its walls. Near the meeting hut there are some rooms with square, rectangular and circular ground plans, only the bottom courses of which remain: almost certainly these were lodgings for the priests of the water cult and the pilgrims, but there must also have been small sales stalls for the market held on the occasion of religious celebrations. "Molly Malone" (Roud 16932; also known as "Cockles and Mussels" or "In Dublin's Fair City") is a song set in Dublin, Ireland, which has become the city's unofficial anthem.

A statue representing Molly Malone, designed by Dublin artist Jeanne Rynhart, was unveiled on Grafton Street during the 1988 Dublin Millennium celebrations by then Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ben Briscoe. In July 2014, the statue was relocated to Suffolk Street, in front of the Tourist Information Office, to make way for Luas track-laying work at the old location.

Día de los Muertos blends remembrance with celebration, turning the border between life and death into a doorway of color. Families build ofrendas with marigolds, candles, and sugar skulls to welcome returning spirits. Among the festival’s iconic figures stands El Catrín, the elegant male counterpart to La Catrina. Dressed in a sharp suit, top hat, and skeletal grin, he represents a playful truth: death comes for everyone, rich or poor, and dignity lies in accepting that with style. His refined appearance isn’t meant to frighten but to remind celebrants that mortality can be faced with grace, humor, and a well-tailored coat.

Today, his presence lingers in the festival’s imagery, reminding celebrants that death is not an ending but a companion woven into life’s story.

Its roots lie in Indigenous rituals that honored ancestors with offerings, flowers, and food, later merging with Catholic traditions brought during colonization. At the center of its modern imagery stands La Catrina, inspired by José Guadalupe Posada’s early 20th‑century engraving of an elegant female skeleton. A traditional hat worn by the peoples of Maderia, Portugal. Originally, worn by rural island workers, its use has since shifted in today's enviornment. In a contemporary enviornment, these hats serve as a visual reminder of the islands rich culture and are used in celebration.

Carapuça

For this project, I made a ladybug in celebration of Spring and warmer weather. I got this idea after scrolling through some images for inspiration. When I came across a photo of a little ladybug on a dandelion holding onto the last seed, I had to make it. For the sculpt, I kept it fairly simple. I wanted the base to look like a dandelion that had all the seeds blown off, except one. The ladybug will be standing on its back four legs, while holding the last seed with its front two. Once I got everything modeled out, I went back to pose the scene before making it all one piece for printing. I ended up printing the base separate from the ladybug with the seed. From here, it was just a matter of getting everything painted. Using the airbrush for the red shell left a very smooth and even coat. For the spots, I used a pencil to draw them on first as a guide. One thing I had to figure out, though, was how to make the white tufts on the dandelion seed. As a side note, the white tufts are called the pappus. The entire dandelion would be covered in pappi, for the plural. I had to look this up, and I thought it was kind of interesting. As for the sculpt, I modeled the tall stem of the seed, and slightly enlarged the top. I had the idea to use paintbrush bristles for the pappus instead of trying to model and print it. Of course, I couldn't find any paintbrushes with long enough white bristles, so I made do by painting what I had. Using clear resin and UV light, I attached each bristle individually until the pappus was formed. This is such a fun little project, and I really enjoy how the model looks on display.
