I spent a couple of days cleaning and rigging the mesh to be able to animate it. I wanted to do a short looping animation by starting and finishing it with the same initial scan position

Animated triceratops skeleton

Micro CT scan of a young chimpanzee skull from the D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum at the University of Dundee.

Pan sp. - Chimpanzee. DUNUC 2404 & 2404/1. Length=15cm. Acquired by D'Arcy Thompson from William Cross of Liverpool in 1886. Writing to his grandfather, D'Arcy noted: “I yesterday received a chimpanzee, one of the most manlike of apes; it is the rarest and most valuable specimen I have yet had... One of the young Doctors came and helped me to remove its brain at 11 o’clock at night. It was in beautiful condition. I shall be able to make a whole series of preparations besides cleaning the skeleton and stuffing the skin.” The stuffed skin and the brain are also still in the museum.

Scanned with a Nikon XT H 225ST micro CT scanner. The resulting file is exported as an stl. and imported in to Zbrush. Texture is added from photographs using the Spotlight function and Polypainting.

The model has been cleaned and rigged and it should hopefully work, the model contains 3 textures which are the normal and blink and hurt, if you want to get them download the fbx version

I only tested this model on blender, so for anyone who used the model on prisma3D please tell me if it works

Cleaning this model was painful because the model faces were not connected to each other which made cleaning the model really hard but not impossible

I tried to add a lot of small details taken from a lot of different references and the result is what you see
I was cleaning my computer and I found it, so I decided to put it here as a reference for others. It's not the best, but it's bettere than nothing!

Electrical Powerline Pole (Free Asset)

This is a 3D scan of a cockroach I bought on etsy. It's part of a larger project where I combined 3D modeled assets with photogrammetry (see http://whatswrongwithwhite.tumblr.com/image/177884973392 ). I used a lot of custom photo equipment (macro lens, polarization filters, extension tubes and a 3D printed cockroach holder from shapeways). For cleanup I used blender (cleaning up holes, chopping up into body parts, modeling deatils). For the final material design and export Substance Painter did a great job.

Cockroach (3D photogrammetry scan)

Another personal project to improve my hard surface skills and learn some new techniques. After a long-standing debate between me and a few of my friends, if the falcon can actually be called a cargo ship (when all the interior space we were shown is full of benches, chessboards and capes), I tried to build what a cargo ship in this class could actually look like. What I came up with is the YTS-27 light freighter. I imagined this ship as a Joint Venture between Latero Spaceworks and the Corellian Engineering Corporation, taking design clues from the praying Mantis from Jedi: Fallen Order and corellian vessels like the CR90 and, of course, the Millennium Falcon. This particular YTS-27 light freighter was named after its first owner, a Kowakian monkey-lizard, who was barely smart enough to "maneuver" it off the landing pad. After extensive repairs and a good cleaning of the cockpit, it now has a far more capable pilot.

I created this model as a one day challenge years ago but due to major causes I couldn't finish it. Recently I found it while cleaning my files and I was so excited to find it that I decided to give it the ending it deserves.

On a side note,
I wanted to make a scene with my goldfish assets.  (Both Ryukin and Broadtail Moor are downloadable)
I ended up spending more time making the system for the aquatic plant behaviour and script to generate marbles on the ground.

Modeling, textureing, rigging, animation done in Blender.  (Texturing for original assets done in Substance Painter)
Fins and plants are animated with cloth simulation.
Water surface done with dynamic paint.

Goldfish Scene 1:  Aka to Kuro

Other test this time working on the mesh from the light cloud, it is the first time the result looks better than the dense cloud..  Kind of strange 
Textures are not that bad for a video.

Need to polish that cloud more, lots of cleaning of the mesh needed too.

Mow Cop Castle, High v2 WIP

The Indrica Catholic Church, located near the Daugava River , is the oldest extant wooden church in Latgale. Constructed between 1655–1658 and 1698 , it remains the oldest wooden structure in Latvia not rebuilt since the 17th century. This Baroque three-aisle hall-type log building features a polygonal apse and horizontal plank cladding. The facade is marked by a three-stage tower with a bell-shaped roof. Internally, a high degree of authenticity is preserved, including a rich wood-carved altar from the Stelmužė school and a crypt housing the Counts Plater family burials. The ensemble includes a fieldstone masonry fence and a unique three-stage bell tower. Despite a 1989 fire, the structure is in satisfactory condition following roof reconstruction. Current maintenance needs include addressing paint delamination and cleaning gutters from larch needle accumulation.

L/A Meriluoto is one of two ferries operating between Oulunsalo and Hailuoto in the northwestern Finland. She has been operating on the route for 30 years, starting from 1996 and ending in 2026 when the Hailuoto causeway will replace ferry traffic.

Measurements: length: 53.5 m, breadth: 12.3 m, draught: 4.2 m, capacity: approx. 45 cars.

I went with the detailing and color scheme of the ferry in the mid-2010s, since I think the current appearance isn't as visually interesting. Model based on photomatching, not blueprints. Modeling done in Sketchup and then moved into Blender at the last minute, so have fun cleaning up the probably incredible topology and whatnot. Sorry :)

L/A Merisilta is one of two ferries operating between Oulunsalo and Hailuoto in the northwestern Finland. She has been operating on the route for almost 40 years, starting from 1987 and ending in 2026 when the Hailuoto causeway will replace ferry traffic.

Measurements: length: 63.2 m, breadth: 12.3 m, draught: 3.6 m, capacity: approx. 55 cars.

I went with the detailing and color scheme of the ferry in the mid-2010s, since I think the current appearance isn't as visually interesting. Model based on photomatching, not blueprints. Cruceiro dos Santos in Cheis, Vimianzo (A Coruña). It is in the way from Bamiro to Tines, in the place that crosses the route to Pazos, the benefactor village, probably in XVIIth century. On one side ther is a Christ, looking East, and on the west side there is a Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. On the lower part there is a group of figures arround the cross.
