Making progress on underwater scenes ( but still more to come :) ) !

[Original scan](https://skfb.ly/6suDz) from @ariosgeo, and inspiration from [Il Cristo degli Abissi](https://goo.gl/RU5PtJ), a submerged statue of Jesus in Italy.

**Modeling**:

* The scan was remeshed with [mmgs](http://mmgtools.org) from 500k verts to 7k, keeping the face and hands at a higher resolution.
* The ocean surface and ground were created with blender's ocean modifier.
* Light shafts are simply a randomized array of elongated planes.
* The fish is a lowpoly model ( a 30s model ).
* A particle system was created for fish instances, with force fields applied (boids physics, vortex, attraction force and collision on the statue)

**Texturing/lighting**:

* Mix of concrete and coral on the statue
* Sand on the ground
* Nothing on the sea surface
* Radial opacity for ground and surface
* Voronoi textures baked as emission on the statue and the ground, to simulate the light deformation through water
* Lots of color processing

On 6/23/2021, These are the underwater creatures that live in the shallows, popular in Okinawa.

Found at a depth of about 3-4 meters at the Dive Site “Gorilla Chop”, Sakimotobu, Motobucho Kunigamigun, Okinawa, Japan

From 445 images of 60MP. This was taken underwater.

Chameleon of the in-between

The concept is loosely based around protecting and preserving the natural beauty of endangered coral reefs, and the aquatic life that inhabit them. In an ocean with ever spreading pollution, the Idyllic Cage is a safe-haven that separates reality from fantasy, preserving the inhabitants of these sacred waters from harm for eternity. 
I focused on an elegant design that lets the shaping do most of the work opposed to layering detail. The terrain emphasizes strong, vivid, full colors, bringing the surroundings to life. I hope you enjoy!

OLA Electric Scooter (Black Color)

This is a shell from the chambered nautilus (*Nautilus pompilius*), known also as the pearly nautilus. The chambered nautilus can be found throughout the Pacific Ocean and inhabits shelf and slope waters near coral reefs with depths up to 750 meters. The shell of the nautilus shows countershading--where the bottom of the shell is light and the top is dark. This is a type of camouflauge that is effective at helping the nautilus blend in with the sea.

Bubblegum coarl, Paragorgia arborea, has a fluffy appearance when the feeding polyps are extended. Researchers form MBARI and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary traveled to Sur Ridge to study the corals and sponges that grow on this fascinating underwater mountain.  The Reefback leviathan, or just the Reefback, is a large leviathan class organism which is very strange in its biology, having evolved drastically to survive attacks from now extinct predators. Often, the reefbacks can become centuries old, and have many species of coral and plants grow on its back, putting their roots into deep scars in the large chitonous back. The creature evolved this back, asbits just one chitonous large bone like structure, as opposed to the other evolutionary paths of a spine with multiple vertibrae. The Reefback has large fina that look like claws, but actually control where the creature turns. The reefback will produce booming calls and songs like earth whales, using 2 large mouths on its sides, which also filter microorganisms from the water. The bottom also has blue bioluminescent stripes, and a collection of enzyme pods, which have no real purpose. Often, resources can be found on its back.

Reefback

This is the common predator to the anemone deer, as it uses the lure within its mouth to attract unsuspecting prey. Many scholars mistake the lure for it's tongue but it is actually a seperate appendage used specifically for hunting and mating purposes.

Here is number eight in my animal anatomy exploration project. I had dinosaur on the brain, and thought it was necessary to do a bipedal one. I also added some angler fish motif to it.

Coral Mouth (Godzilla X Kong: Titan Chasers)

**Dating:** 375-200 BCE

The sword is forged from iron, and has an iron scabbard. It is characterised by a hilt with remnants of wood, a small rivet, a spherical pommel with volute decorations, a crossguard featuring a roof-shaped metal plate with spiral volutes, and a rivet securing the plate. The scabbard has a  roof-shaped mouth. On the front are two connected decorative rivets with a gold sheet rivet, coral overlay, below that sheet metal with volutes and below that a triangular, openwork net ornament. Several circular elements can be seen on the sides. The back features a profiled bar, accompanied by a small triangular net ornament backed with gold sheet.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.
