The giant isopod (*Bathynomus giganteus*) is a species of aquatic crustacean and a cousin to terrestrial "pill bugs" or "roly polies" that are commonly found under logs. These animals are found in cold waters with a depth between 310 to 2140 meters (1,020–7,020 ft) in the West Atlantic, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. The unusually large size of these isopods has been attributed to an effect called deep-sea gigantism, where invertebrates living in cold deep waters tend to grow larger and have longer lifespans (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_isopod).

Giant Isopod

This model was created on the basis of a real-life bathyscaphe "Bester-1", however, I changed some details. This is my first model where I thought about working out the interior.

"Bester-1" is a deep-sea rescue vehicle designed for various kinds of research and rescue operations at a depth of up to 800 m.

BT-01

Here is a 3D photogrammetric reconstruction of a young whale that came to rest at the bottom of the ocean near Davidson Sea Mount off of Monterey Bay, CA.  The species of this whale is still being determined, but it is speculated to be a young Grey or Humpback Whale, which are often predated upon by Killer Whales in the area.  The whale is approximately 4 to 5 meters in length and was found at a depth of over 3000m.
Researchers at the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and the [E/V Nautilus](http://nautiluslive.org/video/2019/10/17/baleen-whale-fall-becomes-deep-sea-banquet-davidson-seamount) happened upon this whale in 2019, while surveying the nearby octopus brooding grounds.  Several octopus and species of bone-eating worms, called Osedax, which appear as red fur on the tail section, can be seen scavenging the whale. 

This model was reconstructed by a team at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute using approximately 600 still frames from video taken by ROV Hercules and the E/V Nautilus crew.

Archaea are a domain of single-celled microorganisms distinct from bacteria and eukaryotes. They thrive in extreme environments, such as hot springs, salt lakes, and deep-sea vents, but can also be found in more moderate conditions. Archaea have unique biochemistry and genetics, enabling them to survive in harsh conditions. They play crucial roles in various ecological processes, including nutrient cycling and methane production.

Bubblegum coarl, Paragorgia arborea, has a fluffy appearance when the feeding polyps are extended. Researchers form MBARI and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary traveled to Sur Ridge to study the corals and sponges that grow on this fascinating underwater mountain. Sperm Whale – Realistic 3D Model

This model represents a realistic sperm whale, the largest of the toothed whales and one of the deepest-diving mammals on Earth. The design focuses on accurate anatomy, including its massive square-shaped head, thick body, and powerful tail flukes.

Special attention was given to the whale’s proportions, smooth surface flow, and natural silhouette to reflect its real-world appearance and presence. The goal was to capture both the immense scale and calm, mysterious nature of this deep-sea giant.

Animated Sperm Whale

Homelander is the central antagonist of *The Boys*, portrayed as a god-like figure who serves as the leader of the corporate-sponsored superhero team, The Seven. Created in a laboratory by Vought International and raised without parental affection, he is the product of Compound V experimentation, granting him immense strength, flight, and heat vision. Despite his public image as a wholesome, patriotic symbol of American hope, his history is defined by a deep-seated insecurity and a lack of empathy, resulting in a volatile personality that oscillates between a desperate need for public adoration and a murderous contempt for those he deems inferior. As an adult, his story explores the corruption of absolute power, as he gradually sheds his corporate restraints to become a narcissistic and unpredictable force who views himself as a superior being above human law.

A quick experiment with marine themes! I used ShapeLab for the initial VR sculpting to capture the movement of the octopus and corals. Then, I finished it off in Substance 3D Painter using neon-inspired tones. The goal was to build a dreamlike, vibrant deep-sea ecosystem that feels a bit "otherworldly."

Zombie worms (Osedax) are deep-sea annelids that consume the bones of dead whales and other marine life, relying on symbiotic bacteria rather than a mouth or stomach to digest nutrients. Osedax is a genus of siboglinid polychaetes, commonly called snot worms or bone-eating worms. Osedax is Latin for 'bone devourer', derived from the worms' unique ecological niche of bone-boring.

Scotoplanes is a genus of deep-sea sea cucumbers of the family Elpidiidae. Its species are commonly known as sea pigs.n 2024, a bright pink sea pig was discovered in the Clarion–Clipperton zone, belonging to an undescribed species. It was nicknamed the "Barbie Pig" in reference to the 2023 Barbie film due to its coloration.

Onboard of the SMS Pola scientists conducted the first comprehensive oceanographic and biological studies of the Mediterranean and Red Seas.
