A wooden face, originally belonging to an anthropoid coffin, featuring a base of dark timber covered with a layer of painted gesso. The face is decorated with a distinct pink flesh tone, while the eyes are rendered in black and white, and the eyebrows in black. Resting low upon the forehead is a rounded headdress adorned with alternating horizontal stripes of green, yellow, and red. At the front of this headdress, a delicate fringe is represented by a row of small black dots, while the rear of the striped section is decorated with painted floral petals and traces of a red sun disk. The reverse side of the object reveals the remains of four wooden dowels used for structural attachment, alongside the word "Gorna" (Qurna) inscribed in blue ink, which identifies the object’s geographic provenance.

Coffin Face (W1210)

A wooden face, carved in relief, originally part of the lid of an anthropoid coffin. The surface is primarily decorated with a yellow pigment, intended to represent the radiant, eternal flesh of the gods. The facial features are defined by heavy, stylised cosmetic lines; the large, almond-shaped eyes are rendered in stark white and black, while the thick, horizontal eyebrows and extended cosmetic bands are painted in deep black. Traces of dowel holes and wooden pins are visible around the periphery and on the flat reverse side, which provided the structural means to secure the face to the larger wooden framework of the coffin lid. Despite some weathering and loss to the wood’s edges, the painted details remain remarkably clear.

Dowel Lounge Armchair S110

This object consists of two crudely carved wooden funerary figures mounted onto a modern rectangular display base. The figures stand upright in a frontal pose, though one is slightly bent forward at the waist. Their anatomy is minimally defined, featuring simple bobbed hairstyles or wigs. The arms were carved as separate wooden components and attached to the shoulders via small dowels; currently, only a single right arm on one figure is preserved. Both figures are depicted wearing a simple, knee-length kilt. The raw timber was originally coated in a thin layer of gesso plaster to receive polychrome decoration, with traces of red paint used for the skin tones and black paint for the hair. The front of the modern mount is labeled "OARSMEN FROM FUNERAL BOAT", although this is undetermined. These figures likely date to the First Intermediate Period (c. 2160–2055 BC).

Funerary Figures (EC198)

A wooden face, intended for an anthropoid coffin lid, which is prepared with a layer of painted gesso over a timber core. The skin is rendered in a deep red pigment, while the eyebrows are defined in black. The eyes, featuring stark white sclerae and black pupils, show signs of potential modern repainting, which may account for their unusually crisp appearance compared to the surrounding aged gesso. The carving of the nose and lips is well-defined, though the surface shows significant flaking and loss of gesso, particularly around the mouth and chin. The reverse side of the object is plain wood and features a single central dowel used to anchor the face to the larger coffin structure. This object possibly dates to the Third Intermediate Period (c. 1069–715 BC).

Gus Mulholland Sofa

A wooden Sokar hawk with a gesso coating that has been painted. The object is made of two pieces of wood, which have been dowelled together. The main body of the mummiform falcon is joined to an independent, lower horizontal tail-piece that acts as the support base. The decoration on the body is painted to resemble a beaded net, featuring distinct horizontal registers of green and yellow triangles separated by thick reddish-brown and white bands, mimicking a protective, patterned bead shroud. The cream-coloured face mask is finely detailed with large black-outlined eyes, a prominent beak, and a small incised V-shaped mark on the chin. The lower tail section is painted yellow with a repeating pattern of short, vertical black dashes. There is a noticeable separation and gap along the joint where the two wooden segments meet. This figure dates to the Late Period (c. 664–332 BC).

The skin tone is rendered in a light brown pigment, with the eyes and eyebrows defined in bold black lines. Adorning the forehead is a decorative fillet (headband) painted in alternating patterns of green and red. The upper portion of the head features a series of parallel green stripes, representing a specific style of wig or headdress. The object contains four circular holes intended for wooden dowels to secure the face to the main coffin lid. There is noticeable wear and loss of gesso on the cheeks and nose, exposing the underlying timber core. This object dates to the Third Intermediate Period (c. 1069–715 BC).

This detailed 3D model features a rustic incense burner designed to resemble a cozy hand built log cabin constructed from miniature wooden dowel rods. The cabin s facade includes a small charming door while the interior houses a functional metal cup engineered to safely secure a single incense rod. To enhance the storytelling of the scene the model includes a small realistic stack of unlit incense rods resting beside the structure making it a perfect atmospheric prop for cabin themed interiors spa environments or cozy tabletop visualizations where the smoke is intended to drift naturally from the chimney.

A wooden face, carved for an anthropoid coffin, which is prepared with a thin layer of plaster that serves as a ground for its polychrome decoration. The visage is painted with a pink flesh tone, a stylistic hallmark that likely signifies a youthful or divinised state. The almond-shaped eyes are rendered in black and white, while the eyebrows are defined by thick black lines. Sitting low upon the forehead is a portion of a striped headdress, decorated with alternating bands of green and yellow. The reverse side of the object displays five dowel holes used to secure the face to a coffin lid, as well as the word "Thebes" inscribed in white chalk, providing a probable geographic provenance for the piece. While the painted surface has suffered significant flaking and loss, particularly on the left side of the face, the underlying carved features and the pigment of the headdress remain discernible.

A wooden face, carved from a single block of timber, which originally formed the central facial feature of an anthropoid coffin lid. The visage is characterised by a deep red ochre pigment used for the skin tone. The facial features are detailed with precision: the eyebrows and the elongated cosmetic lines of the eyes are rendered in a striking blue pigment. The eyes themselves consist of a white sclera and a prominent black pupil, creating a lifelike gaze. On the reverse, two substantial wooden dowels remain, which were used to secure the face into the larger assembly of the coffin's head section. A prominent vertical tenon or support extends from the top of the head, indicating how the piece was integrated into the structural framework of the wig or headdress.

Coffin Face (W352)

A wooden face, originally an element of an anthropoid coffin lid, which is prepared with a thin layer of gesso as a ground for polychrome decoration. The face is painted in a deep red earth tone, a traditional Egyptian convention for representing male figures. The almond-shaped eyes are clearly defined in black and white, while the eyebrows are rendered with bold black lines. A fragment of a headdress sits low across the forehead, retaining visible traces of the white gesso base, though much of its original surface pigment has been lost. The reverse of the timber displays three wooden dowels used to anchor the face to the main body of the coffin lid. While the painted plaster has suffered considerable flaking and abrasion—particularly across the cheeks and the headdress—the underlying carved details of the nose and lips remain well-preserved. This fragment perhaps dates to the Twenty-sixth Dynasty (c. 664–525 BC).
