Unlike my mass-produced Ancient Khajiit armor, this badboy is an end-game, high-tier armor set, made with the mightiest metal, worked by the best blacksmiths, to be worn by the nobility of Roscrea. So I made the set in a way that players can wear it with pride... and hopefully flexing it on their friends next Monday morning.
Although our modern interpretation of the Vikings claims that they were no pretty boys, my study of Vendel period art says otherwise. According to many archaeological evidences, these pillagers took very good care of their appearance and hygiene, wear vibrant color palette and exquisite jewelry, and were capable of producing some of the most intricate art in contrary to popular belief.
     With that knowledge, I took certain liberties to gild certain part of the armor in gold and added some more intricate engravings. It was fun maintaining the balance between the elegance of nobility and the ruggedness of Skyrim’s Nordic populace.

Maiden Moo(2021)

Imitates the battle sample. Double axes were known in the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean, and often had a ritual or sacred significance. Consists of a handle and the axe head. Made of steel and shaped as two crescents, located symmetrically about the central axis of the handle. The axe tube goes into a flat tip, consisting of a notched "apple" and rhombic plume. The handle is steel, octagonal, with a knob on the end. The tip has engraving in Arabic (1201-?); both-the axe and the tip-decorated with floral ornament and stylized images of animals. The upper part of the handle is decorated with floral ornament inlaid with silver.

Decorative Double-Bladed Battle Axe

Consists of a handle and the axe head. Axe is shaped as a crescent, is made from copper alloy. Handle is wooden, round, plugged with a steel plate with longitudinal canals. The blunt side is decorated with engraced figure of a bird. Both sides of the axe head are decorated with floral ornament with two stylized figures of animals.

Decorative Battle Axe

More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer's hundreds of masterful portraits, pen and silver-point sketches, water colors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar with only one of Albrecht Durer's works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may have a reproduction hanging in your home or office.

One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother's abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply "Hands," but the entire world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of love "The Praying Hands."

Vampire Hunter Gun Blade

Half a skull from the Neolithic Necropolis of Escoural Cave, one of the most iconic monuments of the of Montemor-o-Novo’s region, in Portugal, being widely recognized for the presence of Paleolithic rock art (paintings and engravings). The burials in this necropolis were covered by a mantle of calcite that can still be seen in part of this skull. The burials were accompanied by votive ceramics pieces.

This piece is currently on display at the Museum of S. Domingos, in Montemor-o-Novo.

Framed Engraving Plate

Stairs and eroded slipway/jetty at the east end of Custom House, London.

"An earlier phase of the causeway is visible half way down the foreshore - previously partly hidden under the cambered concrete causeway until it broke up. The earlier phase aligns to the true end of the stair. The current granite setts were added to raise the level on the foreshore and the stair passes underneath the setts." - The City of London Archaeological Society (@COLAS_London).

On the river wall above the stairs is a parish boundary engraving for St Dunstan in the East and All Hallows by the Tower with the date: 1819.

Custom House Stairs

This is the remains of the Agoranomeion, located in the roman agora. Built in the mid-1st century AD, engraving says it was dedicated to Athena.

Chinese Stone Engraving

The 3D model presents a digital look of a historical costume from a Russian lubok print “Rayok” dating to the 18th century. The costume was made for a theatrical performance «Indecent is decent» (Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. Burylin, October 30, 2019 – March 1, 2020, http://xn--80ablhhepdp1a2ae9h.xn--p1ai/). The 3D reconstruction was made by using historical block patterns, 2D scans of textile materials and 3d scans of contemporary actors. Anthroscan, Clo3D, SubstancePainter and Unreal Engine 4 software programs were applied. Raek’s costume from a traditional engraving

Found an interesting picture of an axe-head dating from the Koban Period (Late Bronze Age). This is my attempt to try and recreate it and have it brough back to life. This is not 100% historically accurate as i had a rough template of the geometry of the axe and some visual bits in terms of the engravings.

This portion of Rock 6 at Luine demonstates the huge timespan of the tradition of rock engraving in Valcamonica.  There are the faint lines of Epipaleolithic animal carvings; these heavily overlain by possibly Neolithic/Bronze Age cup marks & occasional rings, and 1st Century BC alphabetic inscriptions, Roman age numerals and finally, a possibly Christian era cross (refer to the annotations on the model).  This represents nearly 9000 years of human creative activity on and around this site.

Valcamonica, Luine - Rock 6 (4)

This Camunian Rose with a dancing figure below very famous image in Valcamonica rock art.  I have two excellent Valcamonica rock art guide books and both of their covers display photos of this pairing.  There are many other engravings round about them, but these two stand out due to their quality, clarity and execution.

The Camunian Rose is a very good example of the quatrefoil type.  The dancing figure below holds a sword in his right hand and a small shield in his left.  He wears a decorated helmet or headdress.  He's impeccably carved, and is of the Naturalistic style of Iron Age figure - 500-300 BC.

Valcamonica, Foppe di Nadro - Rock 24 (3)

This project presents a custom designer chessboard featuring a deep mahogany-red wood finish, golden engravings, and integrated color-matched drawers for piece storage. The chess pieces are split into two distinct sets inspired by lapis lazuli and ruby/marble-red stone.

Each set uses its own 2K PBR material, while the chessboard is textured with a dedicated 4K PBR material. The pieces are primarily instanced from a single classic base set (king, queen, rook, bishop, knight, and pawn).
Total triangle count: ~37.5k.

The main focus was precise UV layout, particularly for correct wood grain direction, and fine-tuning metalness and roughness values to achieve visually striking, high-quality renders. While not a strict 1:1 replica, the project was guided by real-world references. The chessboard and drawer dimensions were established first and used as the foundation for modeling and scaling the remaining elements.

Stylized Battle Axe

Another small scence from Rock 28.  This one is of an armed figure mounted upon a stag, dating from the Middle/Late Iron-Age.  The figure holds a sword and possibly a shield.  This is the only known mounted stag figure in Foppe di Nadro, in contrast to the nearby National Park of Naquane, which displays a number of mounted deer engravings.

This rock was long known by local inhabitants as the 'Puppet Stone' in reference to the carvings upon it.  The main facing containing most of the engravings is badly damaged, especially the lower part, which remained underground for a long time.

To date over 150 engravings have been identified, including many animals, a dagger and a ploughing scene.  The animals include; stags with large antlers, fawns, chamois with short, hooked horns, ibex with backward-fgacing horns and swine (wild boars & pigs).  The canids, depicted in groups with downward-pointing tails, are interpreted as a pack of wolves.  The cattle, without horns or tails, may represent young oxen or cows grazing.

The presence of daggers which closely resemble finds from the graveyard of Remedello Sotto, dates most of the figures to 2900-2500 BC.  A few animals depicted in a dynamic style, similar to that of figures on the Cemmo 3 & 4 stelae, may be attributed to the Bell Beaker Culture (2500-2200 BC).

Valcamonica, Massi di Cemmo - Boulder 1

Located about 15m south of Cemmo 1, this boulder has an engraved northern face.  The surface has flaked in a few places, with a loss of engravings along the right edge and central part.  Two triangular gaps at the bottom divide the rock into three portions.

The figures include animals (ibex, fawns and canids, including packs of wolves and a dog, depicted with its tail up), weapons (an axe, a halberd and several daggers), human figures, a ploughing scene and a cart.  

No superimposition of decorations has been observed on Cemmo 2, and the engravings, made with a small, are homogeneous.

The two most interesting figures are engraved on the western portion: a cart with four, disc-shaped wheels and a plough.  Both of these are pulled by pairs of oxen with long, curved horns.  The Copper Age ploughs engraved on boulders are of the 'ard' variety, well adapted to mountain soils.  

The uniform style of the entire engraved surface may be dated to 2900-2500 BC by the presence of Remedello-type daggers.

Valcamonica, Massi di Cemmo - Boulder 2

A smaller surface in relation to the many very large carved rocks at Foppe di Nadro.  The rock has been extensively smoothed by glacial action.

The engravings here represent two phases of carving.  The first phast presents engravings from the Neolithic Age (4th millennium BC), with 28 praying figures, of which several can be seen here on the 3D model.  They have both schematic and curved arms.  These are contemporary with the circle motifs with a dot in the centre and two figures recognisable as halberds.

The second phase starts from the Middle IronAge and the panel is densely engraved with figures of warriors wielding swords, shields & spears.

The rock also displays some historic phase motifs, with filiforms of lines, half-circles and grids and some Medieval crosses.
