Puro (VrChat Ready)

Japanese armor type "Tosei dö gusoku" with helmet or "kabuto". It was part of the Romero Ortiz Collection, related in its 1888 Catalog to Daniel Datto and the context of the Philippine War. The warriors of ancient Japan or Samurai, belonged to a military elite at the service of a Daimyo or feudal lord. Their armor, the basis of their defensive clothing, consisted of different components that covered the entire body, pieces that evolved into forms of great showiness and a precious finish, especially in the Edo period. Edo period (1603-1868). In the collection of the Spanish National Army Museum (Toledo, Spain). Catalog number MUE-43243. 3D model made using the Artec Leo scanner. Processing completed in Artec Studio Professional with additional processing completed in Geomagic Wrap.

This work is part of the collaboration agreement signed in 2021 between the Ministry of Defence (Spain) and Global Digital Heritage for the digitization of the collections preserved by the Spanish National Army Museum.

It is situated in Khertvisi village of Aspindza Municipality, Southern Georgia, in Meskheti region. The fortress was first mentioned in the 10th-11th centuries. The church was built in 985, and the present walls were built in 1354. According to a local legend, Khertvisi was once destroyed by Alexander the Great, though it has then been reconstructed and invaded on numerous occasions through the centuries.

This expressive figure deep in brooding melancholy epitomises the interests of the Romantic sculptors.
When first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1834 it was described as 'a personification, with plenty of verve and ardour, of the evil genius at odds with being powerless.' O-zutsu (translating to great/large cylinder) teppo classify the largest, mostly handheld, firearms with a caliber size of 20mm+ and caliber weight of 75g+, they fired either cannon balls, incendiary/explosive arrows or grapeshots. They were mounted on castle walls, used against pirates on merchant ships, on the battlefield on horseback and in sieges as blast weapons against door hinges.
The size and weight made it difficult to use and was therefore mostly given to Samurai, and for this reason are also more artistically decorated than other more standard firearms.
