This helmet, with its rather special appearance, is one of the few preserved objects that we know was owned by the Swedish king [Gustav Vasa](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustav_I_of_Sweden). 

It was made in Germany in 1540, probably in Augsburg or Nuremberg, which were home to some of the most skilled armour makers of the time. The visor, the part that covers the face, did not originally belong to the helmet, but it is thought to be of the same period.

A helmet of this type was made not for battle but for celebratory occasions. In the 16th century, full suits of steel armour were the height of fashion. For parades and other royal festivities, the social elite would dress up in specially-made sets of costume armour with a close helmet. During these celebrations it became popular, in the early 16th century, to wear close helmets with grotesque visors in the form of animal or human faces, like this one, to enhance the festive atmosphere and heighten the sense of theatricality.

The Calvary in Eisenstadt is an artificially constructed mountain made of stones, interspersed with grottos and small chapels, depicting the Passion of Christ. The Calvary was commissioned by Prince Paul I Esterházy (1635-1713), who had been very impressed by the Calvary in Maria Lanzendorf near Vienna.

An early 19th Century garden folly associated with nearby Ingress Abbey. Located under the Kent Fastway, on the east side of The Dell housing estate, Greenhithe, Kent.

The stone arch now only has 6 heads (one missing to left side) and leads to a cavern beyond the gate. The Historic England listing states, "grotesque heads which possibly came from the medieval London Bridge".

The chapel on Kreuzberg in Falkenstein is part of a small religious complex centered around the so-called Calvary Hill above the village. This area was designed as a place of worship and symbolically represents Christ’s path of suffering to Golgotha. Along the path are stone figures and stations that depict the Stations of the Cross, making the site particularly suited for quiet reflection and religious walks.

The complex also includes a simple chapel, often referred to as the Communion Chapel, which forms the spiritual center of this Kreuzberg area. It blends into the rocky landscape and is closely connected to other religious elements, such as a nearby Marian grotto. Overall, Kreuzberg and its chapel convey a sense of popular piety and religious tradition, as has been cultivated in the Weinviertel region for centuries.

Dr. Joseph Randolph is the main antagonist of the indie horror game The Heilwald Loophole. As the egotistical chief doctor of the once-prestigious Heilwald Klinikum, he promises that “no one dies at Heilwald” — a creed he twists into horrific reality by trapping the hospital in brutal time loops and subjecting patients and staff to grotesque experimentation and abuse. Charismatic at first, Randolph hides his cruelty behind a calm facade while manipulating, injuring, and torturing those under his care. His unethical “treatments” include removing organs and bizarre procedures that break all medical oaths, reflecting his lack of empathy and genuine medical skill. At first he seems calm, friendly, and relaxed, welcoming patients into the bathhouse. That facade quickly crumbles: Wolfram is revealed to be callous, manipulative, and intolerant of those who defy his orders, even chasing and sedating the protagonist to “clean” them. Rumors in the Klinik hint he was fired for abusing patients yet escaped justice and was rehired under Dr. Randolph’s regime. In the bathhouse he can transform into grotesque, towering forms—either a giant showerhead that floods rooms or a giant brusher that relentlessly pursues you—making him one of the most disturbing threats you face. Wolfram embodies the perversion of care and the abuse of power that defines Heilwald’s descent into horror.
