My entry for the 3D Editor Challenge

I wanted the entire scene to feel like the cover of a vaporwave album, and even added some music to fit in with the scene. Hope you guys enjoy the different take on it.

As for edits, I applied a lot of noise while lowering contrast and harshly color balancing it to fit with the blown out vaporwave colors. I also applied some emission and chromatic aberation to add a distorted light effect.

Truly a fun experience to see what exetremes can be done with the 3D editor!

Scene is part of the #medievalfantasyscene contest. Medieval castle with village is inspired by fortress of Ostrozac and Lukomir village, both located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Scene with castle and village is placed high in mountains, where strong people used to harsh climate live and strong winds are blowing continuously through the mountains (you can actually hear wind if you turn volume up).

A model of a Japanese pickup truck converted into a service vehicle. The model was created on the basis of a previously made mid-80s pickup truck, and underwent a facelift for the 90s update. Added plastic elements and skirts to protect the bodywork from harsh use.

Archaea are a domain of single-celled microorganisms distinct from bacteria and eukaryotes. They thrive in extreme environments, such as hot springs, salt lakes, and deep-sea vents, but can also be found in more moderate conditions. Archaea have unique biochemistry and genetics, enabling them to survive in harsh conditions. They play crucial roles in various ecological processes, including nutrient cycling and methane production.

A rig I made of a character from an alternate race of resilient humanoids who reside in harsh desert type of ecosystems. Outfit is divided as seperate objects for whatever use intended and can be swapped in and out to make variety or something. Or can just be completely scrapped so one can make an entirely new outfit over the base body mesh. Though I had a fanatasy theme in mind, personally I think it can still work for a distopian/post apocolyptic futuristic theme or something alike aswell. Its not absolute but whatever the use, some credit would be very eppreciated

Paramount Marauder - Armored Military Vehicle

A 3D scene interpretation of a 2D illustration by Tom Haugomat. This was made as part of my honours project for university last year and now can be viewed in 3D.

A lone man walking through a tunnel as he approaches the train heading his way. Will he move out of the way, or is this intentional?
Either way, the colours contrast perfectly with cold interior of the tunnel versus the warm glow of the outside. A orange glow combined with harsh shadows define the shapes and features that bring this space to life.

In Greek mythology the boy Ganymede was carried up into the sky, to the home of the gods on Olympus to be the gods’ taster. According to legend it was Zeus, in the shape of an eagle, who took the beautiful boy from Phrygia in the north-western part of Asia Minor (Turkey). The effect of Thorvaldsen’s sculpture is created mostly by the contrast between the smooth skin of the boy and his trusting nature, which is juxtaposed by the detailed rendering of the eagle’s feathers, its harsh look and its sharp beak. Ganymede was to take the place of Hebe as the taster of the gods, because she spilled the drink – the nectar – that made the gods immortal. Thorvaldsen modelled the group sculpture in 1817 and it exists in several marble copies.

Concept from a 2D illustration that I painted in VR for my Honours project at university. Original by a Japanese artist I cannot track down. This was my first attempt at designing scenes and painting them in VR.

The harsh light from the sun above creates the drastic shadows and contrast of colours. Super dark blues for the shadows that give off an extreme version of the cold shadow havens from the beaming sunlight that will most likely burn anyone who gets exposed to it.

The Top Gear Geoff Electric Car is a deliberately shoddy, home‑built experimental EV created by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May as a comedic rival to the G‑Wiz in Series 14, Episode 2 of Top Gear. Improvised from a milk float chassis, scrap body panels, and an electric motor powered by two scavenged batteries, it was designed as much to mock early eco‑cars as to test the trio’s ability to “save the planet” with their own zero‑emissions vehicle.
Geoff’s  is a tall, boxy, almost Jeep‑like shape clad in flat aluminium sheet, with crude panel gaps, awkward proportions, and minimal attention to aerodynamics or comfort. Its reflective metal body gives it a harsh, unfinished look, while the cramped, upright cabin forced the team to literally bolt on a raised “roof box” so Hammond could sit inside without hitting his head. There is almost no ventilation, little sound insulation, and the interir feels more like a hastily built shed than a finished car.

🪐 Eris – Dwarf Planet 3D Model

This Eris – Dwarf Planet 3D Model represents one of the most distant and massive known dwarf planets in our solar system. Located far beyond Pluto, Eris is an extremely cold and reflective world, dominated by frozen surfaces and a harsh, icy environment. This model captures that remote and isolated nature through its pale coloration, subtle surface variation, and smooth yet rugged terrain.

Eris is known for its high reflectivity and frozen composition, which gives it a bright, almost glassy appearance when illuminated. These traits are reflected in the model’s shading and surface design, creating a realistic and cinematic representation of a deep-space object untouched by warmth or atmosphere. Its form emphasizes the quiet, ancient, and distant presence of this trans-Neptunian world.

Whether used as a background celestial body or a primary focal point, this model adds a sense of scale, coldness, and cosmic realism to any space-themed scene.

Eris – Dwarf Planet 3D Model

## Scanning
The front was scanned in IR mode for large parts at 1mm resolution with hybrid tracking (texture and geometry). The environment was less than ideal for scanning: Harsh sunlight from the side with a crystal clear sky so no scattered light for better conditions. Also the paint was recently waxed and freshly cleaned...  
For the scan itself I slowly moved around the car trying to capture all crevices, only tracking problems were encountered on the center of the hood (no features and no texture).

## Post-Processing
Only point cloud generation and meshing at recommended settings. Scan was later reduced and aligned to the coordinate system in Quicksurface.

he Iron Howitzer MK-VII is a heavy mobile artillery vehicle designed for frontline combat and long-range bombardment. Built on a rugged multi-axle transport chassis, it combines industrial strength with military-grade firepower. The extended barrel cannon allows precision strikes from a distance, while the reinforced cabin and off-road tires ensure reliability in harsh battlefield conditions.

The model was created in Autodesk Maya, with detailed texturing and weathering done in Substance Painter to achieve a worn, battle-tested look. Final rendering was completed in Unreal Engine, enhancing realism through dynamic lighting and material response. Scratches, dirt buildup, and chipped paint add authenticity, giving the vehicle a grounded, realistic presence suitable for games or cinematic environments

Delta Tail Guppy Male, totally ignoring the colours if you look at its name which would indicate a triangular tail, well to be honest if one said no this is a halfmoon blue guppy i would agree as well. Open for debate the names of guppies are, but whats more important is how do they look overal, you decide. This type of guppy fish is often considered to be among the most beautiful of all guppies. They have a long, slim body with a sharply pointed tail. They are a popular choice for aquariums because of their unique coloration and their ability to thrive in a variety of environments. In addition, they are very hardy fish and can withstand the harsh conditions of an aquarium.
