Zapotec funerary urn, 600-900 CE

Farmhouse. Possibly formerly a summer house for the abbots of Burton. Early C16 carcass remodelled in the mid C17 and late C19. Timber framed on stone plinth with closely-spaced uprights (parts replaced by brick) with diagonal struts to gables. Brick and lath and plaster infill panels; brick and sandstone ashlar side stacks to the east; tiled roofs. Large U-shaped plan, open to the south (the main prospect) with later additions against the western limb. Probably formerly of hall and cross wings layout, entered through a screens passage to the western side, but substantially altered to take a central porch and upper storeys.

Georeferenced Orthomosaic Map and Model. The most important prehistoric site of the East Midlands, Arbor Low is a Neolithic henge monument atmospherically set amid high moorland. Within an earthen bank and ditch, a circle of some 50 white limestone slabs, all now fallen, surrounds a central stone ‘cove’ – a feature found only in major sacred sites. Nearby is enigmatic Gib Hill, a large burial mound.

of 1892 by Sir Arthur Blomfield. Sandstone, mainly ashlar; C12 work is
finely coursed and dressed; red-tiled roof to nave and chancel and lead

eastwards, well down line of nave, and chancel.

Tutbury Washlands

Thoracic vertebra from a dolphin skeleton salvaged while conducting archeological fieldwork in Belize. Using comparitive skull anatomy I have determined that is is a common bottlenose dolphin (*Tursiops truncatus*). Scanned by Finley May in Dr. Heather McKillop’s Spring 2026 3D Digital Imaging class (ANTH 4997) at Louisiana State University.

**Description**: font, c1140, red sandstone, chalice shaped bowl with base formed by three crouching figures, decorated
with three stranded plaiting along rim and irregular interlace to stem, carved representations of the Baptism of Christ, the four symbols of the evangelists, and the hand of God and two doves on the bowl. The font is one of the outstanding works of the Herefordshire school of sculpture with a mixture of local and
French and Italian elements.

**Methodology**: Photogrammetry Process: High-resolution capture with a Sony RX100 IV (DNG). Controlled lighting via Zhiyun M40 & M20 LED panels. RAW processing in Adobe Camera Raw. Created in RealityScan by Epic Games from 97 images in 00h:09m:06s.
