This is the Hardy Tree in [St Pancras Old Church](https://goo.gl/9AiihJ), Camden, London, UK ([OSM](https://goo.gl/ydVXeA)). The tree was reportedly planted by the author Thomas Hardy and the roots are embedded in pile of gravestones.

The point cloud is a combination of a RIEGL VZ-400 scan and a ZEB-REVO (to get detail around the gravestones). **Description**
Devil's Slide was the location of a military triangulation station and observation site used during World War II as part of the harbor defense of San Francisco. Prior to the advent of radar, military personnel used binoculars and compasses to search for ships at sea and relay their coordinates to a central post. By combining information from multiple observation posts, a ship's precise location could be determined by triangulation. There were six military structures at the Devil's Slide: three concrete and steel observation pill-boxes, two concrete and earth bunkers, and a reinforced steel observation tower. In this 3D solar system size comparison model, the radius of each planet is measured relative to Earth's radius (6,378 km). This means that the Earth's sphere in the model has a radius of 1 cm, where 1 cm represents 6,378 km. For example, the sphere representing Jupiter has a radius of 10.961 cm, and its actual radius can be calculated using the formula:

The data used in this model was sourced from Google. While the model provides a useful size comparison, it is not 100% accurate because planets have different radii at the poles and the equator. However, it still serves as a good reference for understanding relative sizes.

The Sun’s radius can also be calculated using the same formula. However, the Sun does not have a single, fixed radius, as different wavelengths of light reveal slightly different measurements. In this 3D model, the Sun’s radius was determined based on visible light observations.

This item is an observational astronomical instrument used to determine the altitude of celestial bodies above the horizon. It consists of a frame restricted by two radiuses and an arc with a scale, an observation telescope, and a mirror system. The arc of the quintant is the fifth part of a circle, hence its name, analogous to quadrants, sextants, and octants (based on the fourth, sixth, and eighth parts of a circle, respectively).

This type of telescope was first described in 1663 by James Gregory (1638-1675), a Scottish mathematician and astronomer, professor at the University of Edinburgh and St. Andrews University in Scotland. Inventor of the first reflecting telescope. He proposed a method of determining an astronomical unit based on observations of the transit of Venus in front of the disc of the Sun. 

This particular telescope was engineered by Jesse Ramsden (1735–1800), optician, maker of scientific instruments, mainly astronomical and navigational ones, Fellow of the Royal Society in London.

I have seen compass-drawn circles in many locations throughout Valcamonica - e.g. Luine, Bedolina, Nadro & Paspardo.  They do not seem to garner very much attention or comment.  Here at Rock 6, there are many compass-drawn circles of hugely varying sizes, and some with multiple concentric rings, all with distinct central holes.   On the same surface are also a number of pecked, cup and ring marks, usually assigned to the late Neolithic/Bronze Ages.  

Whatever the actual date of the compass-drawn circle is, they will have been produced many centuries after the cup & ring marks, yet they take a similar form.  Is there some sort of continuity of meaning in these geometrical forms & is there a connectivity here between this area and that of Atlantic rock art?   This struck me quite strongly the first time I visited this rock at Luine, and the thought has been re-enforced by my observations elsewhere.  It would be significant as the interpretation of cup & ring marks in the Atlantic area is a complete mystery.

I do not know the RTJ Members but from my observation they always have a message they are trying to convey.
